NL East

Atlanta Braves: #BravesCountry

Yet again the betting favorite to win the NL East is none other than the six-time defending division champ Braves. With a star-studded lineup featuring Ronald Acuna, Jr. paired with an elite rotation led by CY Young candidate, Spencer Strider, Atlanta is poised to win it again. Last year was disappointing since they won 104 games but fell to divisional rival Phillies in the NLDS…again.

New York Mets: #LGM

If spending is directly correlated to wins, the Mets may never lose a game in 2024. Well, we see how that worked out in 2023. Steve Cohen physically could not care less about the luxury tax threshold, he wants to win and win now. New York is off to a rough start but with Pete Alonso, the Mets could get back on track and contend for the division…eventually.

Philadelphia Phillies: #RingTheBell

The second-best NL East team out of three in the playoffs ended up falling to the Diamondback in seven games after dropping the final two at home. The Phillies have high hopes for 2024 and with a lineup of Trea Turner, J.T. Realmuto, Nick Castellanos, Bryce Harper, and Kyle Schwarber, they should be fine.

Miami Marlins: #HomeOfBeisbol

Could the Marlins follow up their breakout in 2023? There is still a lot of youth with high ceilings in the rotation. Can Luis Arraez hit .400 this year? The lineup doesn’t quite jump off the page, but with Jazz Chisholm and Josh Bell heading them up, they could shake things up.

Washington Nationals: #NATITUDE

Still, quite possibly the best hashtag in the NL East, the Nationals have the longest odds to take the division. And that’s about it. Jesse Winker looks to get his career back on track and they may have found something in Trey Lipscomb.

NL Central

St. Louis Cardinals: #ForTheLou

A good hashtag is clever but they changed it up this year. The Cardinals are one of the premier franchises in baseball considering they’ve won the second-most World Series. St. Louis is among the favorites to take the NL Central. With the likes of Jordan Walker, Paul Goldschmidt, and Nolan Arenado, the lineup will always be dangerous.

Milwaukee Brewers:#ThisIsMyCrew

The Brew Crew is considered an underdog this year and there are rumblings a fire sale may be in the team’s future.. Can Christian Yellich get back to his elite ways or will he be dealt? Was signing Rhys Hoskins the right move? The NL Central looks to be wide open and they are always a tough out.

Chicago Cubs: #YouHaveToSeeIt

The Cubs haven’t been able to get back to their great play of a few years ago and broke up the band. However, the Cubs are a popular pick to take the division. Can they win it?

Pittsburgh Pirates: #LetsGoBucs

The Pittsburgh Pirates are going to be an interesting team in 2023. O’Neil Cruz looks like he has the makings to be a real star beside Ke’Bryan Hayes and the latter is finally healthy. They signed star Bryan Reynolds to an extension last year. Watch out for Paul Skenes. The Pirates may have found its best pitching prospect since Gerrit Cole.

Cincinnati Reds: #ATOBTTR

For the first time in a very, very long time, there’s legitimate hope in Cincinnati. Elly De La Cruz has serious star power, and the lineup looks loaded with Christian Encarncion-Strand and Spencer Steer. The rotation has a very high ceiling with Hunter Greene, Nick Lodolo (when he’s healthy), Andrew Abbott, Graham Ashcraft, and Frankie Montas.

The injury to Matt McLain and suspension of Rookie of the Year hopeful Noelvi Marte will hurt, however.

NL West

Los Angeles Dodgers: #LetsGoDodgers

What’s to say? The Dodgers are going to be good and will likely fight for the NL Pennant all year. They signed Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani to go with their stacked roster. If they finish with fewer than 110 wins, it’ll be surprising.

San Diego Padres: #LetsGoPadres

2023 was disappointing for the Padres and it got even worse when they dealt star Juan Soto to the New York Yankees. However, they did trade for Dylan Cease and gave up very little and have the likes of Fernando Tatis, Jr., Xander Bogaerts, and Manny Machado in the lineup. It’s an incredibly competitive NL West and the Padres are in the thick of it.

San Francisco Giants: #SFGiants

The bombers by the Bay have another uphill battle in a strong division but they believe that they can compete year in and year out. Logan Webb is one of the top aces in the game and is as good as any. They signed Jorge Soler and found a dude in Thairo Estrada. Can we still dip into the “it’s an even year so the Giants will be good” thing?

Arizona Diamondbacks: #DBacks

The winners of the NL are back for more. Ketel Marte. Corbin Carroll. Chrisitan Walker. Joc Pederson. Eugenio Suarez. Find a hole in that lineup. Arizona is set to be dangerous yet again and baseball is good for it.

Colorado Rockies: #Rockies

Simple. Easy. #Rockies is as good and easy as it gets if you’re looking for the Colorado Rockies hashtag. It’s going to be an interesting year in the Mile High City, that much is for sure.

AL East

New York Yankees: #RepBX

The Bronx Bombers are favorites to take the AL East and will likely contend for the AL Pennant as they do almost yearly despite the end-of-the-world 82-win season in 2023. Aaron Judge is one of the best in the game, Garrett Cole is an elite ace when he returns from injury, and they’ve begun a youth movement. Oh, and they have Juan Soto. Another 100 wins for the Yankees is possible in 2024.

Boston Red Sox: #DirtyWater

This one is unique. One would think a simple #RedSox or even a #BoSox would work. Nope. Either way, Boston had a down year last year again and is looking to get back on it. In a rough division, they won’t be able to afford to slip up again.

Toronto Blue Jays: #TOTHECORE

Our friends from the Great White North are the lone non-Continental U.S. franchise and they’ll make some noise again in 2024. Vladimir Guerrero, Jr is already a transcendent star and is following in his father’s footsteps. They’ll be fighting for the division this year behind a solid pitching rotation.

Tampa Bay Rays: #RaysUp

The franchise that perfected the small-market approach of trading away expensive pieces for youth, developing them, and repeating, the Rays continue to be a fun team to watch. Randy Arozarena continues to be a star and it’ll be fun to see which unknown player makes a name for himself this year.

The whole Wander Franco situation might be too big of a distraction to ignore however…

Baltimore Orioles: #Birdland

Despite winning the AL East for the first time since 2014, the Orioles are NOT the favorite (the Yankees are, go figure). Gunnar Henderson, Adley Rutschman, and Anthony Santander is a legit trio at the top of the lineup and will lead this Baltimore squad back to the playoffs yet again.

AL Central

Cleveland Guardians: #ForTheLand

Shane Beiber is a monster and closer Emmanuel Clase is expected to lead the way in saves, assuming neither gets traded. The lineup is dangerous as well with Steven Kwan, Jose Ramirez, and Josh Naylor. In a weak division, the Guardians can get back to competing after faltering last year.

Minnesota Twins: #MNTwins

The Twins went into 2022 as the favorites but faltered. Then, they took the division back in 2023. #MNTwins is as succinct and to-the-point as can be and is one of the better MLB hashtags this year. If Byron Buxton can manage to stay healthy for the majority of the year, this could be a solid team.

Kansas City Royals: #WelcomeToTheCity

After mashing a ridiculous 48 home runs in 2021, Salvador Perez came back down to Earth in 2022 and maintained it in 2023. Still, he’s impressive playing at a higher level at his age. Either way, the Royals have a lot of players who are seemingly past their prime but are still solid contributors. It will be interesting to watch what happens in those baby blues.

Detroit Tigers: #RepDetroit

Honestly, #RepDetroit is all about being proud of where you’re from. Looking for their first winning season since 2016, the Tigers are looking to Javier Baez and Spencer Torkelson to lead them back to the postseason. The rotation could be a strength with Jack Flaherty and Tarik Skubal kicking off the season strong.

Chicago White Sox: #WhiteSox

It’s to the point and a hashtag that people could even accidentally use, but #WhiteSox is perfect for this team. Will they contend? Who knows but they could be fun to watch either way.

AL West

Houston Astros: #Relentless

The 2022 World Series Champions were #Ready2Reign and defend their title but fell in the playoffs to the eventual champs after squandering a 3-2 lead in Houston. Still, no team in MLB has been as dominant over the last seven years where they have won two World Series and made another two while making the ALCS three times.

Los Angeles Angels: #RepTheHalo

The Halos were home to two of the best players in all of baseball yet haven’t made the playoffs in years. Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani deserved better. Ohtani took his talents to the Dodgers and Mike Trout is still stuck. There is still some optimism but it’s hard to expect more out of this team when they squandered such an elite duo.

Seattle Mariners: #TridentsUp

This one wins.

Julio Rodriguez is set to lead this team in the lineup and Luis Castillo, once he warms up, will be one of the best pitchers in baseball yet again.

Texas Rangers: #StraightUpTX

Your defending World Series champions. The Rangers got better this offseason and will be among the favorites to repeat but in a division with the Astros, it’s not going to be easy.

Oakland A’s: #Athletics

Tried and true within MLB hashtags, just go for your mascot! Well, when you’re sporting a payroll lower than the cost of a mid-sized sedan, there really isn’t much to do in terms of marketing.

Oakland deserves better than John Fisher and he should really sell the team and not relocate to Las Vegas…who doesn’t want the team.
