The over/under win totals have been set for each team as we get closer to the start of the NFL season on September 7th. After years and years of being one of the worst divisions in football, the AFC East has become one of the most interesting divisions of all. Oh, and it’s adding a first-ballot Hall of Fame quarterback to the mix. Three of the four teams have an O/U of 9.5 or more, making it one of the projected winningest divisions in the league. In this edition, the focus will be on the AFC East and their projected O/U totals for the 2023 season.

NFL Over/Under Predictions: AFC East Edition
Bills (O/U 10.5)
Headlined by the duo of Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs, the Buffalo Bills are projected to once again be a serious Super Bowl contender this season. Their over/under for 2023 is set at 10.5, which might seem a little low even with a strong division and conference in general. Not only can this offense explode and still be one of the best in football but they also have a defense with talent all around, including Tre’Davious White and Jordan Poyer in the secondary to go along with a eventually returning Von Miller up front. This team is very talented and hitting the over seems like a comfortable way to go.
Prediction: Over (2023 win total: 13 wins)
Dolphins (O/U 9.5)
The Miami Dolphins made the playoffs last year with a record of 9-8, losing to their division rival Bills by only three points in the Wild Card round with third-string quarterback Skylar Thompson. If Tua Tagovailoa can stay healthy, Miami can improve their 2022 win total by a game or two this season. With plenty of new additions on both sides of the ball and the wide receiver threat of speedsters Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, the Dolphins seem to be heading in the right direction as a legit playoff team.
Prediction: Over (10 wins)
Jets (O/U 9.5)
There’s a new sheriff in town and his name is Aaron Rodgers. The New York Jets had a rotation of four quarterbacks playing throughout 2022 yet they managed to win seven games. Despite the quarterback carousel, Garrett Wilson won the 2022 Offensive Rookie of the Year and is expected to take another leap in his game with number 8 under center. Also, let’s not forget the duo of Dalvin Cook and Breece Hall. Not only can this be a strong offense but this defense could complement it, led by 2022 Defensive Rookie of the Year Sauce Gardner. The Jets were already seeming to improve but now they have a real possibility to make the playoffs for the first time since 2010 if Rodgers recaptures some of his magic.
Prediction: Over (10 wins)
Patriots (O/U 7.5)
With Bill Belichick at the helm, it’s hard to imagine that the New England Patriots have yet another losing season with no playoffs but that very well might be the case again this season. He will make sure his defense is ready for the upcoming campaign but it’s the offense that everyone is concerned about. Even with adding Bill O’Brien as the offensive coordinator, the jury is still out on quarterback Mac Jones and his ability to lead this limited offense. In 2022, seven of the Patriots’ eight wins came against backup quarterbacks, making it even harder to believe in them hitting the over this season.
Prediction: Under (7 wins)
