Fantasy Football Studs and Duds for Week 11

Each week, there are players that everyone starts that bust and players that nobody starts that blow up. Figuring out which players fall into each of those categories is the tricky part. Let’s take a look at some potential fantasy football studs and duds for Week 11.

Fantasy Football Studs and Duds for Week 11

Studs

Always lead with the good news. This is the feel-good portion of the article. These are the players you’ll want to lay some money on doing well this weekend. These players are liable to outperform their projections in a big way this weekend. To qualify for the “studs” section, a player must be started in less than 70% of Yahoo leagues.

Brandin Cooks (HOU – 51% Started) v NE

Brandin Cooks is a guy that completely turned his season around a month into it. No coincidence, this is when the Houston Texans decided to make a coaching change. Through the first four weeks, Cooks only had one game with more than five targets. He also only had one game with double-digit PPR points. At that point in the season, Cooks was averaging 5.25 targets, 2.5 receptions, and 34.5 receiving yards per game. He also didn’t score a single touchdown in those games. He was averaging less than six PPR points per game and was basically left for dead as a fantasy option.

From that point forward, Cooks has only has had five straight games with at least eight targets and scored double-digit PPR points in every game but one (9.90). In that span, he’s averaging 9.4 targets, 6.6 receptions, and 82.2 receiving yards per game along with scoring three touchdowns. Like the top no deposit casino bonuses topcasinoexpert.com, Cooks is money.

This week against the New England Patriots isn’t a matchup to fear. Star cover corner Stephon Gilmore has been banged up and even if he’s active, he’s more likely to see more of Will Fuller anyway. This should be a competitive game and in a dome. Fire Cooks up in all leagues.

Honorable Mentions: Jakobi Meyers (NE – 27%) @ HOU, Tyler Boyd (CIN – 60%) @ WAS

Duds

This is the bad news portion of the article. This is where you’ll find the players that will severely underperform this weekend. These players are liable to score you single-digit points in a PPR league. To qualify for the “duds” section, a player must be started in at least 70% of Yahoo leagues.

Josh Jacobs (LV – 99% Started) v KC

Yes, Josh Jacobs not only had a great week last week but also had a great week the last time the Las Vegas Raiders faced the Kansas City Chiefs back in Week 5. When it comes to Jacobs, however, you need to read the fine print. The same issues that plagued Jacobs last year have done so this year.

He’s extremely game script-dependent. It’s ridiculous they don’t involve him more in the passing game and use him more when trailing but that’s a conversation for another day. The fact remains, the Raiders lean heavily on him in wins and somewhat abandon him in losses. In the Raiders’ three losses on the season, Jacobs has had his three worst fantasy games. He hasn’t scored a touchdown in any of the three and had three of his four lowest carry totals. In those three losses, Jacobs is averaging just 8.6 PPR points and hasn’t had a game with more than 10.3 PPR points. In the six wins, he’s averaging 22.4 PPR points and hasn’t had a game with less than 13.5 PPR points.

This is a scary split for a player whose team is a seven-point underdog this weekend. It’s hard to bench a player like Jacobs, especially at a thin running back position, but expectations need to be held in check this week.

Dishonorable Mentions: James Robinson (JAX – 87%) v PIT, Mike Evans (TB – 82%) v LAR
