XFL Week Four - Josh Johnson

XFL Week Four Top Performances

XFL week four is in the books and a lot of people don’t know what to think of these teams yet based on their performances week to week. That is what makes it intriguing and gets more people to stay tuned. There were a lot of great plays and performances to come out of week four. As we process it all, let’s take a look at the top performances over this past week.

XFL Week Four Top Performances

Josh Johnson (Wildcats, QB)

The Los Angeles Wildcats got handed their third loss of the season despite Josh Johnson having a good game. He completed 25 of 40 passes for 325 yards and two touchdowns but did throw a pick. This is coming off of a game where he threw for 278 yards and three touchdowns. He put up all the points but it wasn’t enough. His game is trending in the right direction and if he keeps this up, the Wildcats will get on the winning track.

Tre McBride (Wildcats, WR)

Tre McBride also put up a great performance for the Wildcats. He caught eight balls for 127 yards and a touchdown. This is his second consecutive game where he has more than 100 yards receiving and at least a touchdown. The connection between Johnson and McBride is one of the best in the league. These two can do a lot of good things in this league and put the team in the right direction.

Jarrell Owens (Guardians, DE)

The New York Guardians’ defense showed up and helped this team in the 17-14 win over the Wildcats. A big reason for the win was that defense, in particular, defensive end Jarrell Owens. He had a very nice game all around, even on special teams. Owens had three tackles with two of them being for a loss, two sacks, four quarterback hits, and a punt block. He made the opposition’s quarterback feel uncomfortable all day. Owens helped the Guardians secure a much-needed win after two awful weeks prior.

Jordan Ta’amu (BattleHawks, QB)

The St. Louis BattleHawks are 2-0 at home after a close win over Seattle. Quarterback Jordan Ta’amu has been a perfect fit for what this team is trying to accomplish. He’s a dual-threat quarterback with a good arm and fresh legs. Ta’amu threw for 264 yards and a touchdown. He also showed the other part of his game as he rushed 16 times for 63 yards. Everyone is wowed at what he can do and what he’s doing week in and weeks out.

Jacques Patrick (Vipers, RB)

Jacques Patrick was one half of a deadly running duo in the Tampa Bay Vipers blowout win over the D.C. Defenders. He rushed 21 times for 108 yards and a touchdown. This lethal rush attack was the downfall of D.C. Patrick wasn’t alone as the Vipers had another 100-yard rusher as well. The Vipers were trending in the right direction in week three against the Houston Roughnecks and finally got their first win last week. If these two keep it up, this team will be tough to stop.

Other Notable Performances

Final Drive

We’re four weeks in and we still don’t know what these teams are. Inconsistency from these teams has been the story of the year. Three of the games this week were close to the end and that’s what the league needed. Next week should be fun and will tell us what to expect moving forward from these teams and players.
