All-star snubs

NBA: Notable All-Star Snubs

The 2020 All-Star reserves were announced on Thursday. In the Eastern Conference, players like Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry, and Jayson Tatum were selected. In the Western Conference, players like Russell Westbrook, Damian Lillard, and Chris Paul were selected. All of these players deserve it, but some believe others deserve it more. There are a few Notable All-Star Snubs that should be in this game. Players that are averaging more than 27 points per game or a player like Andre Drummond, who is averaging over 15 rebounds a game, deserve a spot. One player even went as far as to say that he felt “disrespected” that he wasn’t an all-star. There are a lot of cases to be made on why these players should have been voted in.

Notable All-Star Snubs

Bradley Beal (Wizards)

As mentioned above, a player said they felt “disrespected” and that player was Bradley Beal. He’s having a pretty good season on the Washington Wizards without partner John Wall. Through 40 games, Beal is averaging 28.7 points per game and six rebounds. Over his last five games, he is scoring 34 points ore more. Everyone is talking about him not being a reserve but this next guy deserves as much talk as Wall is getting.

Devin Booker (Suns)

Devin Booker is also averaging insane points per game at 27.1. His three-point percentage is 37, which is two above league average, and has an overall field goal percentage of 51. Being with the Phoenix Suns, he probably isn’t getting the recognition that is deserved but he definitely should’ve got in.

Zach LaVine (Bulls)

Zach LaVine is averaging 25.1 points per game and is shooting 38 percent from three. He’s got 20+ points in his last 16 games. The Chicago Bulls aren’t having a good season but one bright spot has been LaVine.

DeMar DeRozan (Spurs)

The San Antonio Spurs are hanging on by a hair and it’s because of DeMar DeRozan. He’s not only averaging 23 points per game, but he is averaging almost six rebounds and 5.2 assists a game. He’s shooting an amazing 53 percent from the floor. DeRozan has scored 30 or more in three of their last four games. Even though he isn’t an All-Star for the league, he is one for his team.

Karl-Anthony Towns (Timberwolves)

Karl-Anthony Towns has played 30 games for the Minnesota Timberwolves but has been doing very well. They probably didn’t vote him in because he was sidelined with an injury but before that, he looked very good. He is averaging a double-double with 26.9 points and 10.7 rebounds per game with a three-point percentage of 41.2 and an overall percentage of 51.1. Towns is having a very nice season and he’s showing off his abilities as a great player

Other Notable Snubs:

Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics)
Paul George (Los Angeles Clippers)
Ja Morant (Memphis Grizzlies)
Andre Drummond (Detroit Pistons)
Lou Williams (Clippers)
Tobias Harris (Philadelphia 76ers)

Last Shot

The two big name all-star snubs are Beal and Booker. Both are the only two players in NBA history to average 27 points or more and not make the All-Star game. Although people agree with the results, there are a few people that think these players are snubbed. Even though they didn’t make the big game, we won’t forget what they have done so far this season.
