Following the incident on the show Undisputed where Shannon Sharpe called Julio Jones to comment on his situation with the Atlanta Falcons, trade rumors for Jones have been loud in the media. Several players and fans have pitched their side for Julio coming to their squad, but ultimately it is up to Atlanta on where the pro bowl receiver will land. With that in mind, here are six potential Julio Jones landing spots.
Six Potential Julio Jones Trade Landing Spots
1. New England Patriots
Julio Jones made it clear that he wants to compete for a contender. While New England isn’t the obvious choice for that anymore, they do still have Bill Belichick. Along with Belichick are a top defense and an overhauled offense that features two of the NFL’s best receiving tight ends. Adding a definitive wide receiver threat like Jones could be what New England needs to be a legit contender in the AFC.
The quarterback situation in New England could be an issue for Jones’ hopes of competing for a super bowl, but it isn’t impossible for Cam Newton or Mac Jones to have the ability to bring the surrounding team to the playoffs.
2. Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens have needed help at wide receiver since Lamar Jackson’s rookie year. They have addressed the position a bit this off-season by signing Sammy Watkins and drafting Rashod Bateman. They still lack a true number one receiver to put their offense in elite territory.
Jones would obviously be that missing piece and could give Lamar Jackson everything he needs to become a dominant dual-threat quarterback. He would be just another weapon on an offense that also had Marquise Brown and Mark Andrews as receiving threats. This is one offense that opposing teams hope doesn’t land Julio Jones.
3. Los Angeles Chargers
Another AFC team with a young quarterback that would benefit from a Julio Jones trade would be the Chargers. Justin Herbert is one of the league’s most promising quarterbacks and had a great year last season with his top wide receiver Keenan Allen. The Chargers lost tight end, Hunter Henry, to the Patriots this off-season, and gone with him are more than 90 targets from last season.
The Chargers need someone who can command a 90 plus volume target share and Julio Jones can do that with ease. Prior to an injury-filled 2020, Jones had six consecutive seasons with at least 130 targets. Jones and Allen could be a dominant receiver pair in the NFL with more than 250 combined targets in 2021 if the Chargers can land Julio in a trade.
4. Tennessee Titans
The Titans have been heavily linked to Jones since it came out that he was on the market. Tennessee had a big need for wide receivers after A.J. Brown this off-season and they did not address the position as much as many would have liked. Now, they have an opportunity to land Jones via trade and create an incredible receiving duo with him and Brown.
Pairing this incredible potential passing game with Derrick Henry’s running ability could give Tennessee one of the NFL’s best offenses. The Titans have already established a strong defense in 2020 and with several additions to the defense this off-season, Tennessee could officially be super bowl contenders in the AFC if they can pull off a Julio Jones trade.

5. Philadelphia Eagles
A top-tier wide receiver can never be the center of rumor without the Eagles being mentioned. The need for wide receiver has been synonymous with Philadelphia for several years now and even with the draft selection of DeVonta Smith, the Eagles could still use the talents of Julio Jones. The receiver would bring immediate credibility to the Eagles’ passing offense.
Jones would give young quarterback Jalen Hurts a true go-to target outside of his tight ends Dallas Goedert and Zach Ertz. With rumors of Ertz being traded or released, the Eagles could be in need of Jones’ services more than ever. The addition of Jones would help the Eagles make up for the ground they seem to have lost to Dallas and Washington in the race for the NFC East crown.
6. Green Bay Packers
The last team here is the Green Bay Packers. The Packers’ inclusion on this list boils down to Green Bay trying to mend their relationship with quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Grabbing another elite wide receiver to pair with Davante Adams could help repair the relationship with the MVP quarterback.
Julio Jones and Adams are both regarded as top wide receivers in the NFL and that is something Rodgers would want to be a part of regardless of his relationship with Green Bay’s general manager. Especially when you consider Green Bay fields a team that consistently runs deep into the playoffs with no signs of regression.
