Derek Borycki’s Top 100 Players of the 2017-18 NFL Season (90-81)

I was watching the NFL Network’s top 100 NFL players list and wanted to comprise a list embracing the past season. Instead of the Top 100 players in the league, I wanted to make a list of the top 100 players this past season. A list where pro bowl snubs get their shine. Players who missed large portions of the season such as Aaron Rodgers, David Johnson, and Odell Beckham Jr won’t be included on this list. This is my top 100 players of the 2017-18 NFL season.

Derek Borycki’s Top 100 Players of the 2017-18 NFL Season (90-81)

90. Anthony Barr-LB-Minnesota Vikings

Barr made a major impact for the Vikings this season. His defensive leadership helped lead the Vikings to the NFC Championship where they were defeated by the Super Bowl Champion Philidelphia Eagles. Barr amassed seventy-five tackles this season to go along with one sack. Anthony made waves when a hit he laid on Aaron Rodgers injured Rodgers for multiple weeks. Barr was a pro bowler this season.

89. Yannick Ngakoue-DE-Jacksonville Jaguars

Ngakoue was in his sophomore year this past season and his contributions were key to the Jaguars run to the AFC Championship. His twelve sacks and six forced fumbles helped him reach his first pro bowl. Ngakoue also scored a touchdown this season off a fumble recovery.

88. JuJu Smith-Schuster-WR-Pittsburgh Steelers

JuJu made a tremendous impact for the Steelers this season. His emergence helped pick up the slack of other Steelers receivers such as Martavius Bryant. Smith-Schuster had fifty-seven receptions for nine-hundred and seventeen yards to go along with seven touchdowns. JuJu’s longest touchdown of the season was an outstanding ninety-seven yards.

87. Aqib Talib-CB-Los Angeles Rams

Talib is one of the new members of the Rams secondary, but this past season he was locking down receivers with Denver. Aqib was a well-rounded player this season recording at least one tackle, pass defense, interception, touchdown, and a forced fumble. Talib had thirty-one tackles total and seven passes defended which led to his selection in the pro bowl.

86. Mike Daniels-DE-Green Bay Packers

Daniels recorded fifty tackles and five sacks this season. Daniels was a pro bowler for the first time in his six-year career this season. The work Daniels put in to fill the middle of the field helped the Packers run defense tremendously this season.

85. Kyle Williams-DT-Buffalo Bills

The longtime Bills starter had another solid season posting forty-one tackles and three sacks. He even had two passes defended and a touchdown on offense. Williams missed the pro bowl, but definitely put up pro bowl numbers at the age of thirty-four.

84. Von Miller-DE-Denver Broncos

Miller had fifty-seven tackles and ten sacks this season. He was a bright spot on a rather disappointing Denver team. The defense was unable to carry the poor offensive play this season. Miller made his fourth straight pro bowl this season and he does not look to be slowing down heading into 2018.

83. Taylor Lewan-OT-Tennessee Titans

Lewan continues to prove that he is among the most elite lineman in the NFL. Lewan allowed four sacks this season and had the least amount of penalties against in his entire career. Taylor continues to develop at a rapid pace and Marcus Mariota should be excited.

82. Khalil Mack-DE-Oakland Raiders

Mack had another outstanding season with Oakland in 2017. Seventy-eight tackles and eleven sacks led him to his third straight pro bowl appearance. Mack now has John Gruden as his head coach and this should only increase his production. Mack is a perfect fit for a coach like Gruden who loves tough physical players.

81. Stefon Diggs-WR-Minnesota Vikings

Diggs might be the most important player when it comes to the Vikings reaching the conference championship. It was Diggs after all who caught the Minnesota Miracle at the end of their divisional round game against the New Orleans Saints. This year Diggs had sixty-four receptions to go with his eight-hundred and fifty yards. He also recorded eight touchdowns.
