The 2020 NFL Draft will take place in the great Las Vegas, Nevada on Thursday, April 23rd and it’ll end on Sunday, April 25th. There’s a lot of talent in this year’s group, more so in the wide receiver group which is the deepest draft group in a long time. Then there’s the running back group, who has very good talent at the top end. As we get prepared for the 2020 NFL Draft, let’s take a look at the running back rankings.
2020 NFL Draft Running Back Rankings
Cam Akers (Florida State)
Cam Akers played three seasons at Florida State where he combined for over 2,800 yards and 27 touchdowns on the ground and seven receiving. Last year in particular, he rushed for 1,144 yards and 14 touchdowns, including four touchdowns through the air. He did this for a program with a shaky offensive line and a program that has been down the past several years. He certainly has eyes looking in his direction come draft day.
Zack Moss (Utah)
In his second year with Utah, Zack Moss took off and never looked back. He’s rushed for over 1,000 yards the past three season and has had 10 more touchdowns. This past season was his final year to prove he has what it takes. In his final season, Moss rushed for 1,416 yards and 16 touchdowns while averaging six yards per carry. He has quickness and is a very powerful runner. Moss is projected to be a late second-round to third-round pick.
J.K. Dobbins (Ohio State)
J.K Dobbins is a punishing runner out of Ohio State. In his three years, he’s had over 1,000 yards rushing, including an impressive 2,003 yards and 21 touchdowns with a whopping 6.7 yards per carry. He had a huge year and was a big reason why Ohio State went undefeated headed into the College Football Playoff. He could easily be considered for the number one spot but that goes to show you the talent of the top three.
D’Andre Swift (Georgia)
Many have D’Andre Swift as the number one running back and there are many reasons why. He has great vision and awareness while also showing great speed which is dangerous. Swift ran for 1,218 yards and seven touchdowns while averaging 6.2 yards per carry. He learned a lot from former Bulldogs running backs Sony Michel and Nick Chubb. When he took over as the starter, he ran all over the place. He is going to be a top target for any team that needs a back.
Jonathan Taylor (Wisconsin)
Jonathan Taylor has simply taken over the Badgers offense ever since he arrived. In his first year, he was three yards away from 2,000 yards and his last two seasons, he did run for over 2,000 yards. He also ran for 13 touchdowns in his first year, followed by 16 in his second year and 21 last year as he also caught five touchdowns. He broke records at Wisconsin with his great quickness and running ability. Many teams are impressed and consider him as a top talent in this league.

Final Drive
This year’s running back group isn’t bad at all, especially the top of the list. There’s a lot of quickness and running ability in these players. Teams are going to be chomping at the bit to get the future of their franchise or at least the future of the backfield.
