English Premier League Transfer Window

3 Players Chelsea Should Sign in the 2016/17 Transfer Window

Chelsea comfortably won the Premier League title last season. However, attention has turned to next season as they look to become the first repeat holder since 2009. In order to do that, the club will look to improve their squad in several areas. This season The Blues will also be playing in the Champions League, which makes it even more important to bring in some new bodies.

3 Players Chelsea Should Sign in the 2016/17 Transfer Window

1. Romelu Lukaku

Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for Lukaku, a man they let go to Everton in 2014. Now with Diego Costa set to depart, the Stamford Bridge club are in the market for a striker. And Lukaku fits the bill for Antonio Conte’s men. Just like Costa, the Belgian is a powerhouse and uses his strength to get past defenders. The 24-year old also has the pace to cause problems to defences. And while he may not yet be the finished product, Lukaku guarantees goals. He scored 26 goals for Everton last season and he will only improve with the likes of Hazard, Pedro and Willian playing behind him. Lukaku ticks all the boxes for Chelsea and don’t be surprised if he lines up top for them in the first game of next season.

2. Alex Sandro

Another rumored target for Chelsea, Alex Sandro has become one of the best left-backs in Europe with his performances for Juventus. He helped the Old Lady reach the Champions League final last season and will fit in nicely with Antonio Conte’s system. The Brazilian is a natural defender and is also a powerful attacker. He could cost the club around £60 million but if he is signed, he is guaranteed to play a major role in Chelsea’s title charge for next season.

3. Tiemoue Bakayoko

Boss Antonio Conte is looking to shore up his midfield and power-house Tiemoue Bakayoko is his number one target. The AS Monaco midfielder enjoyed a stunning season with the club and is also a target for Manchester United. The 22-year old is a defensive midfielder who is known for his tackling, interceptions and turning defence into attack. The Frenchman could prove to be a shrewd signing for Chelsea and would be a perfect replacement for Nemanja Matic, who could be on his way to Manchester United.
