Week four daily fantasy under the radar plays. Players designed to help you consider a different route in your roster construction. Of course, we’re going to follow the Kansas City train and plug and play Patrick Mahomes and company. This is basically a no-brainer. However, we’re going to have to zag where others zig. Hitting cash or a GPP tournament (guaranteed prize pool) takedown will come down to those one or two players that will go overlooked or under the radar.

Week Four Daily Fantasy Under the Radar Plays
Quarterback: Case Keenum $4,900
Keenum’s ownership will be depressed going into the Meadowlands to face the New York Giants. Recency bias will favor Daniel Jones after he tore up the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Keenum’s awful performance against the Chicago Bears. Don’t let that deter you from taking a shot with Keenum in your GPP lineups this week. First of all the Bears defense is one of the best in the league. Conversely, the Giants are one of the worst defenses.
Keenum is currently the eleventh overall fantasy quarterback and has had a ceiling game of 30 fantasy points. He clearly has a rapport with Paul Richardson and Terry McLaurin (stack!). Keenum is good pivot from the highly owned Jones. However, there is some risk. Keenum was seen in a walking boot as of Wednesday’s practice. If he makes it to the field on Sunday and he falters, Jay Gruden could pull him in favor of Colt McCoy or rookie, Dwayne Haskins.
Week Three Pick: Carson Wentz (21.7 fantasy points). Outcome: OK
Running Back: Kerryon Johnson $5,400
This may or may not be too under the radar. The Kansas City Chiefs visit the Detroit Lions with a road favorite with a high implied total. While any game involving the Chiefs has shoot-out potential the Lions will likely lean on the running game, much like the Baltimore Ravens last week. The difference is that the Lions have a better passing game with Matthew Stafford and his host of receiving weapons. After the Lions released C.J. Anderson, Johnson saw a clear uptick in carries (20 versus the Philadelphia Eagles). Johnson also has value as a very good pass-catcher out of the backfield. The Chiefs defense is not good upfront or in the back end. The Lions’ offense continues to find its legs under new offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and Johnson should find his versus the Chiefs.
Week Three Pick: Frank Gore (16.9 fantasy points). Outcome: OK
Wide Receiver: Preston Williams $3,900
That’s right. I’m going with a player from the Miami Dolphins here. Preston Williams was targeted 12 times by Josh Rosen versus the Dallas Cowboys in week three. He just missed converting on a touchdown pass which would have given him an outstanding fantasy performance. The Dolphins, while tanking, will still be playing for pride all season and will do their best not to repeat the accomplishments, or lack thereof, of the 2017 Cleveland Browns and the 2008 Detroit Lions.
Additionally, Josh Rosen will be playing with something to prove all season as he auditions for, potentially, his third team in three years. As it is very much expected that the Dolphins select a quarterback in the first round of the 2020 draft. Williams’ targets continue to increase as does his average depth of target. Williams presents nice value going against a team, Los Angeles Chargers, that will most likely rack up points forcing Rosen to throw often.
The Jacksonville Jaguars without Jalen Ramsey could be a team to pick on. With his back-up in the game, Joe Flacco and the Broncos offense will probably stay away from A.J. Bouye. So, after putting up a dud versus the Packers, Emmanuel Sanders could be in line for a bounce back.
Week Three Pick: Emmanuel Sanders (3.0 fantasy points). Outcome: Bust
Tight End: T.J. Hockenson $3,300
I think Will Dissly will be highly owned against the tight end funnel Arizona Cardinals and at the high-end Darren Waller against the Indianapolis Colts. Hockenson hasn’t done much since he exploded for six receptions and 131 yards and a touchdown against the aforementioned Cardinals. With that being said, the Lions are going to have to find ways to keep the Chiefs off balance. Hockenson will be boom or bust given the weapons that Stafford has at his disposal. However, I think Hockenson gives us a boom week versus the Chiefs.
Week Three Pick: Austin Hooper (24.6 fantasy points). Outcome: Boom
Defense: Denver Broncos $2,900
I like to pay down at defense and this week I like the Denver Broncos. The Broncos are a home favorite, and this game has a low implied total (over/under 39 points). Although Gardner Minshew has been impressive, teams typically struggle in Mile High Stadium. That being said, the Broncos defense is due to get to the quarterback and get their first interception. The Broncos should stack the box to stop Leonard Fournette forcing Minshew to throw. Bradley Chubb and Von Miller are too talented to keep off the stat sheet.
Week Three Pick: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8.0 fantasy points). Outcome: OK
Under the Radar
The obvious plays this week (and will be a year-long) will be any game involving the Chiefs and any opponent versus the Dolphins, Redskins, and Giants. Hitting the cash line and potential tournament-winning line-ups will be based on players that you take a stand on and/or get the match-up right.
