Three NBA Storylines Headed Into the New Season

After a long drawn out offseason full of excitement, suspense, drama and maybe the most active free agency period we have seen in NBA history, the NBA season is just days away from beginning and it’s going to be worth the wait. These are three NBA storylines headed into the new season.

Three NBA Storylines Headed Into the New Season

New Team Who’s This

Players begin shifting teams left and right the moment free agency began. Some would say this was the most exciting offseason we have ever had. From simple additions like Avery Bradley joining the Los Angeles Lakers. To a blockbuster move like Kawahi Lenoard leaving the Toronto Raptors after winning them a championship and joining Paul George and the Los Angeles Clippers. The excitement was in the air, and suspense among fans was at an all-time high. No one move could have been predicted. Even famous NBA Insiders with numerous sources couldn’t keep up with all the action happening in the league.

The Balance Of Power

For a long time, the balance of power in the NBA remained in the western conference more specifically with the Golden State Warriors. It was always a lock that you could pencil in the Warriors in the NBA finals. Well looks like things are changing, with Kevin Durant leaving to join the Brooklyn Nets and Klay Thompson battling an ACL injury. Many have the Clippers as the favorites to win the title. But that being said the Los Angles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, Houston Rockets, Boston Celtics as well as many other teams just to name a few all seem to have a legitimate shot at a title this coming season. This is something many fans, as well as even former NBA players, have been wishing for. A balanced league where everyone has a fair shot. How could you not love the sound of that?

Dynamic Duos

It would seem like the era of big three’s is coming to an end. Now it would appear it is all about the powerful duos in the NBA. It began when Anthony Davis was traded to the Lakers to join alongside Lebron James. You then have Russell Westbrook and James Harden on the Rockets, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton with the Bucks. You can’t forget Leonard and George with the Clippers as well. That’s just a few out of the many parings throughout the league. They say the NBA is a copycat league. That so far has seemed to be true, but for some reason, a big two with a solid supporting case sounds a lot better than some big three ready to stack up against the league.

Ready Set Go

With the offseason behind us, most players are now settling into their new respective teams, with training camps and the preseason on the horizon. These NBA storylines to watch for are just a few of the many developed over the offseason. One can say the NBA is back, it truly is anyone’s game. Everyone starts with a clean slate and zero wins.

Which storyline will prevail? Will the Greek freak be able to win a title in Milwaukee as well as become the face of the league while not being born in the USA? will the ball-dominant triple-double duo of Westbrook and Harden be able to coexist to bring a championship to Houston? Can Lebron James and Anthony Davis come back after failed seasons to return the Lakers back to where they have always been? or can a dismantled Warriors team shock the world and prove the doubters wrong? who really knows but one thing I do know is the NBA is back and better than ever.
