NFL Week Three Games To Watch

NFL week three will kick off with an AFC South match up when the 1-1 Tennessee Titans travel to face the 0-2 Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday Night Football. There were a lot of questions that got answered this week about teams and players. We found out about what teams are and if they are real or not. Each week will tell us more and more about what we need to know on certain teams. There are a few week three games to watch and they won’t disappoint.

NFL Week Three Games To Watch

Falcons vs Colts

After losing Andrew Luck before the start of the season, many think the Indianapolis Colts aren’t a playoff team anymore or a just fringe playoff team. With Jacoby Brissett under center, nobody knows what to expect. Through three weeks he has thrown for 336 yards with six total touchdowns. The Colts defense has helped out a lot. Coming into the season, there was no worry about the defense at all. That side of the ball will be key if he Colts want to make a return to the playoffs. They are 1-1 with a huge divisional win against the Titans last week.

After laying an egg against the Minnesota Vikings in week one, they came back will a strong performance in week two on Sunday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Atlanta Falcons offense showed up on SNF and the defense made plays when they had to. Matt Ryan threw for 320 yards with three touchdowns with two of the touchdown passes to Julio Jones who had 106 yards receiving. The Falcons need to show consistency on both sides of the ball if they want to be in the race for the NFC South title. This game will tell us a lot about the two teams. It will tell us if the Colts are a serious playoff team with Brissett. It will also tell us if the Falcons can stay consistent and if we can trust them.

Texans vs Chargers

The Houston Texans will travel to face the Los Angeles Chargers this week. Traveling to face the Chargers is always a big test for anyone but though the first two weeks, the Chargers don’t look the same, at least so far. In week one, they hosted the Colts and hung 30 on the board for an overtime win but last week, they traveled to face the Detroit Lions and the offense was a no show in the 13-10 loss. Don’t think the Chargers will be doing this the whole season but this week is big not only to show people that they can challenge the top teams in the AFC but for the standings. Falling to 1-2 is not ideal for this Chargers team competing for the AFC West.

Last week, the Texans struggled to get anything going against the Jaguars. Deshaun Watson got outplayed by rookie Gardner Minshew but it was the defense that prevailed for the Texans. The Texans are 1-1 and even though falling to 1-2 wouldn’t be the best thing, the AFC South isn’t particularly strong so they can afford to lose a few games. This will be a good AFC match-up and it may have implications for the future.

Rams vs Browns

The new-look Cleveland Browns will be in the spotlight a few times this season and this week is no different when they welcome the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football. Through two weeks, nobody knows what to think of the Browns. In week one, they get blown out by the Titans at home and there were so many questions. They did comeback last week and beat the Jets but it’s the Jets aren’t that good so that didn’t tell us much. This week will tell us a lot about the Browns. This is a tough test against the Rams but if they want to prove that they are what we thought they were, they have to have a great game against one of the best.

On the other hand, the Rams don’t need to show us much. If they had to show us at least one thing, it’s that they need to show us that they can go on the road in a hostile environment against an up and coming team. This team looks dangerous yet again as they look to do what they did last year. This will be a fun game to watch on both sides in prime-time.

Saints vs Seahawks

This will be a really good game. The New Orleans Saints have to travel to face the Seattle Seahawks which is one of the best home-field advantages in all of football. The Saints will be without future Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees as he will miss about 6-8 weeks with a thumb injury. This is a huge blow for the super bowl contending Saints. Teddy Bridgewater will be under center for this one. They paid him big money for a backup for situations like this. He came into the game last week and was 17-30 for 165 yards. He missed some throws but he doesn’t see game action a lot and he will have to get used to him for several weeks.

The Seahawks are 2-0 after an offseason of doubts. Last week they went on the road to Pittsburgh and pulled out a hard-fought victory. Russell Wilson had a great game and led the team to a win. He threw for 300 yards and three touchdowns. He’s got a new toy to play within D.K. Metcalf who had a touchdown. With everything that has happened with this Seahawks team over the past few offseasons, they still find ways to win and stay in it. We’ll see how the Saints fair without Bress for a whole game and if the Seahawks can keep up the good play against a good team.

Ravens vs Chiefs

This is the number one game of week three. Over the past couple of weeks, Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes have been on fire. Jackson through two weeks has thrown for 596 yards, seven touchdowns and has run for 126 yards. Mahomes has thrown for 821 yards and seven touchdowns in two games for the Kansas City Chiefs. This is a big game in the AFC as it may be a fight for the top. Jackson has more to prove in this game than anyone. Yes, he has played great but he has also played the Miami Dolphins’ defense and the Arizona Cardinals’ defense. If he can outplay Mahomes or even have a great game against this defense then that’s one step closer to him and the Baltimore Ravens being a legit contender.
