There are still five Premier League transfers that could still happen. The top leagues in Europe are about to start their new seasons, with new faces looking to shine. The transfer window is not closed yet though. So far it has seen millions spent worldwide and there could be big moves still to happen.
The best teams in Europe are still trying to boost their ranks and several transfer rumours are on the brink of happening.
Five Premier League Transfers That Could Happen
Lucas Perez to Newcastle
The forward only joined Arsenal last summer, but has found chances to impress limited. The Spaniard managed seven goals in all competitions, but only featured 11 times in the Premier League.
Newcastle have been linked with Perez for the last week or so. Magpies manager Rafa Benitez spoke on the rumour, “I like the player because I have good friends in A Coruna, I know that he did really well. He’s come here and not played in many games, but I like the player.”
A £13m price tag has been mentioned, which seems fair. However, will the player want to play up north? I find a move abroad or to a fellow London club seems more likely.
Thomas Lemar to Arsenal
The Monaco star has been in talks with Arsenal all summer, with little progress made. The Gunners had a £30m bid rejected last month.
The 21 year old was an ever present in the side that won Ligue 1 and reached the Champions League semi-finals. Monaco have stated Lemar is not for sale, but with Barcelona now interested a deal could be on the table.
Ivan Perisic to Manchester United
Perisic’s move to United has been an ongoing saga all summer. The Inter Milan star has been subject of links to Old Trafford, but a deal is yet to be completed.
The Croatian has scored 18 times in Serie A since joining Inter in the summer of 2015. While Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalletti claimed the deal is now ‘closed’ and that he would resist any late attempts for the winger to leave.
It seems unlikely Perisic will leave for United this late in the transfer window, but you never know.
Kylian Mbappe to PSG/Real Madrid
Mbappe had a breakthrough season last campaign scoring 24 goals. The 18 year-old is the most wanted star of the summer with comparisons to Thierry Henry regularly made.
Real Madrid have been after the forward all summer, but a rumoured valuation of over £170m may be too much for the Spanish giants.
While PSG, despite recently signing Neymar for a world record fee, are reportedly interested in buying Mbappe as well. The youngster seems set to eventually move on from Monaco, but will it be this summer?
Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona
The Liverpool midfielder has been subject of interest from the Catalan side since Neymar left for PSG.
Coutinho joined in 2013 for £8.5m and it has been reported he wants to leave, but does not want to force a move. Barcelona had a £72m offer rejected a few weeks ago, but with the Brazilian wanting to leave Anfield surely it is only a matter of time.
