The odds to win the 2020 NFL MVP came out on Monday. Baltimore Ravens‘ quarterback Lamar Jackson took home the award last year in an outstanding season. For the 2020 season, it’s predicted that there’ll be a new MVP that takes home the hardware. Quarterbacks take the first ten spots on this list with Christian McCaffrey being the first non-quarterback at 11. If Jackson isn’t favored to win back-to-back awards, then who is? Let’s take a look at the players with the best odds to win the 2020 NFL MVP.
Best Odds To Win 2020 NFL MVP
Patrick Mahomes (+600)
Patrick Mahomes has had a pretty good start to his NFL career with the Kansas City Chiefs. He took home the MVP award for the 2018 season and last season he won a Super Bowl while also winning the Super Bowl MVP. He was going neck and neck with Jackson for the MVP last season but an injury knocked him out of the race. In 2020, he is the odds-on favorite to win another MVP in what will only enhance a great start in his career.
Lamar Jackson (+750)
Last season, Jackson did it all for the Ravens. He not only threw it all over the field but he ran all over it too. He threw for over 3,000 yards and had 36 touchdowns while running for an impressive 1,206 yards and seven touchdowns, which broke Michael Vick‘s record for the most rushing yards by a quarterback in a season. Getting embarrassed by the Tennessee Titans in the AFC divisional round will certainly fuel him for the upcoming season.
Russell Wilson (+900)
A familiar face in the MVP discussion shows up third on this list for the best odds to win MVP. Russell Wilson was also in a tight race for the award last season until Jackson literally ran away with it. For years, Wilson has been carrying the Seattle Seahawks on his back offensively and that was also the case last season when he threw for over 4,000 yards and 31 touchdowns. With the emergence of receiver D.K. Metcalf, Wilson now will have a threat to throw to for years to come that will help his chances to gain the NFL MVP.
Kyler Murray (+1000)
Kyler Murray showed some great skill last season for the Arizona Cardinals. Even though his team went 5-10-1, he threw for over 3,500 yards with 20 touchdowns. He already had solid odds to win MVP but a big move enhances his chances into the top five. The Cardinals traded for a 1,000-yard receiver and one of the best to play the game in DeAndre Hopkins. Adding Hopkins with a young and talented quarterback will surely get Murray some MVP votes.
Tom Brady (+1200)
Tom Brady taking his talents to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers enhanced his chances of winning not just the 2020 NFL MVP but his 7th Super Bowl. He made a massive jump from outside the top ten to the top five with his move. Brady has a wide range of weapons on offense with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and former teammate with New England Rob Gronkowski, who announced he was coming back to football over a week ago. According to his standards, Brady had an off year but now gets a fresh start with lots of new toys to help him win the MVP award.
