Super Bowl LX is set to kick off between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots. Here are five players who can win Super Bowl LX MVP.
Super Bowl LX: Who Can Win MVP?
1. QB Drake Maye, New England Patriots
Despite a lackluster play from Maye during this playoff run, he is plenty capable of winning the Super Bowl LX MVP. Hopefully, Maye is saving his best for last because in three playoff games, Maye has taken 15 sacks and has fumbled six times, losing three of them.
If Maye has a solid game and the Patriots win, he’s likely to win Super Bowl LX MVP.
2. QB Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks
Darnold arguably has the best story of any player stepping on the field Sunday. Once a top-five pick, Darnold was discarded by multiple teams as a former high pick, with his career looking destined to be a backup for his time in the NFL. Darnold lands with Minnesota in 2024 and lights the NFL world on fire. He then signed with the Seahawks in 2025 and continues to play at a high level.
Darnold in the NFC championship was the best quarterback on the field, with the other quarterback in that game being Matthew Stafford, an MVP finalist. Darnold went 25-36 for 346 yards and three touchdowns. He will face another MVP finalist in Drake Maye, and if he outduels him, Darnold will cap off one of the most memorable seasons by a quarterback in recent memory.
3. WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seattle Seahawks
Smith-Njigba, aka “JSN,” was a top-two receiver this season in the NFL. He was a first team All-Pro selection, a Pro-Bowler, and is a heavy favorite for the Offensive Player of the Year award. Smith-Njigba led the league in receiving yards with 1,793, and no defense has had an answer on how to stop him. He has been the Seahawks’ best offensive player all season, and a big game from Smith-Njigba could very well land him the Super Bowl LX MVP.
In fact, Smith-Njigba’s teammate Cooper Kupp was the last wide receiver to win Super Bowl MVP back in 2022.
4. RB Kenneth Walker III, Seattle Seahawks
Walker has been playing his best football of the season during the Seahawks’ final stretch, including the two playoff games. In the divisional round against the San Francisco 49ers, Walker single-handedly destroyed the 49ers’ defense to the tune of 116 rushing yards to go with three touchdowns. In the NFC championship game against the LA Rams, he had 19 carries for 62 yards and a touchdown and added four catches for 50 yards as well.
Walker will be featured a ton in this game, especially with Zach Charbonnet sidelined with a torn ACL.
5. WR Stefon Diggs, New England Patriots
With the Seahawks’ ability to stop the run, the Patriots will probably need to be efficient through the air, which means Diggs will have to play a Big role in the Patriots’ offense. So far this playoffs, Diggs has 11 catches for 73 yards and a touchdown, but Diggs could be in line for a lot of targets from Maye.
Diggs finished the regular season as the top receiver for the Patriots with 85 catches for 1,013 yards. If the Seahawks force Maye into obvious passing situations, Diggs’ Super Bowl LX MVP case will benefit from that.
