2025 NFL Pro Bowl Biggest Snubs

QB Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

As weird as it may sound, Patrick Mahomes was a Pro Bowl snub. If for no other reason, Mahomes should be on the Pro Bowl roster simply for being the leading man on a team currently 15-1. Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow have all had great individual seasons, but Mahomes season hasn’t been too shabby either. He has 3,928 passing yards and 26 touchdowns, all ranking within the top ten in the quarterback position.

It has not quite been the dazzling Mahomes season we are all accustomed to, but his season was still worthy of a Pro Bowl spot.

DB  Kerby Joseph, Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions have seven Pro Bowlers on the initial roster, but a case could easily be made for eight. Kerby Joseph, who currently leads the league in interceptions with nine, was not named to the Pro Bowl roster. He is currently Pro Football Focus’s (PFF) highest-graded safety, with a 90.7 grade. Xavier McKinney, who is second in interceptions with seven, made the NFC Pro Bowl roster at safety. Joseph’s teammate Brian Branch, who was four interceptions himself, all made the roster.

It is hard to argue against Joseph being the biggest defensive snub of the Pro Bowl roster.

RB Kyren Williams, Los Angeles Rams

After making the Pro Bowl roster in 2023, Kyren Williams is one of the 2024 Pro Bowl roster snubs. Williams is currently third in the NFL with 1,299 rushing yards behind Saquon Barkley and Derrick Henry, who are both on the 2024 Pro Bowl roster. He is also tied for second in the league with 14 touchdowns. Since the start of the 2023 season, Williams has led all running backs in touchdowns.

For reference, Josh Jacobs, who is an NFC Pro Bowl representative, is fifth in rushing yards and tied with Williams for 14 rushing touchdowns.

QB Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield may have enjoyed his best individual season to date. Through 16 games, Mayfield is third in passing yards with 4,279 yards and tied for second in touchdown passes with 39. Mayfield was able to accomplish all of this with his top two receivers, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, missing the majority of the season.

Mayfield was able to keep the Buccaneers afloat and currently has them ready to secure a second consecutive playoff berth with him at quarterback.

CB Quinyon Mitchell, Philadelphia Eagles

The rookie defensive back has been stellar the whole season for the Eagles. Quinyon Mitchell has allowed the third lowest competition percentage at 58 percent and has allowed 61 yards after catch, which ranks first. The Philadelphia Eagles have the number one passing defense in the league, allowing opponents to pass for 176.4 yards per game, and Mitchell has played a big part in that.

WR Brian Thomas Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars

Though the Jacksonville Jaguars have been a dumpster fire this season, one player who was able to rise above it was rookie receiver Brian Thomas Jr. He was second in the AFC in receiving yards 1,179 and was tied for second in touchdowns with ten. Not only has Thomas Jr. been arguably the best rookie receiver in the NFL this season, but he was also one of the best receivers in the AFC.

RB James Cook, Buffalo Bills

James Cook is currently the league leader in rushing touchdowns with 15. He has also played more games than fellow AFC Pro Bowl running back Joe Mixon. Cook has averaged five yards per carry this season.
