Alexis Sanchez - The Top Five Potential Destinations

Five Potential Destinations for Alexis Sanchez

Let’s take a look at the top five potential destinations for Alexis Sanchez – The 2016/17 Premier League campaign hasn’t gone as Arsene Wenger would have hoped for Arsenal . The Gunners have failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in over 21 years. In a nail-biting finish to the season, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool edged out Wenger’s side with one point.

Arsenal’s inconsistencies have come back to haunt them in the worst way possible and at this point, even the FA Cup might not be a consolation for the side. However, one player who has been a figure of consistency with his displays this season is, Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean has been the attacking spearhead once again for the Gunners this season, scoring over 25 goals and assisting 13 times in all competitions this campaign. Sanchez’s contract expires in 2018 and there is still no real clarity over his future at Arsenal. Plenty of clubs have been linked, but only a few have shown real interest in Sanchez.

Rivals interested in Alexis Sanchez

Sanchez is a priority for Antonio Conte

Reports of interest from rival clubs in the Premier League for Sanchez have interested in the past few weeks. Chelsea’s new manager Antonio Conte wants to boost his squad after leading the blues to a title-winning campaign in his first season as a Premier League manager.

The Italian has reportedly made Sanchez his primary target for the summer and is seriously considering trying to prize the Chilean away from the Emirates. Conte’s Chelsea and Wenger’s Arsenal clash in the FA Cup final this Saturday and regardless of the result, Sanchez will be desperate to sort out his future at Arsenal soon.

If Conte does manage to get Sanchez, the club will be a force to reckon with in the UEFA Champions League in the upcoming season.

Pep Guardiola considering a reunion

Another one of Arsenal’s top-four rivals this season, Manchester City, seem to be interested in a move for Alexis Sanchez as well. Blues boss Pep Guardiola has publicly praised the Chilean, which has only added to the rumours.

City haven’t had the greatest of starts under Guardiola this campaign. The Citizens managed to finish in third place in a season that promised a lot but delivered nothing for the club and its fans.

The addition of Sanchez will be a huge boost to a team that contains brilliant attackers including the likes of Sergio Kun Aguero and Gabriel Jesus, while Kelechi Iheanacho is a positive sign for the future of the club. A reunion between Pep and Sanchez might be just what the club needs to challenge on all fronts in the coming season as they look to push for the league title as well as a good showing in the Champions League.

Manchester United to steal another Arsenal star?

In what could be a sensational transfer, Sanchez has also been linked with a move to Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United.

Sir Alex Ferguson signed Arsenal’s Dutch dynamo Robin Van Persie in his final season and his gamble on the then 29-year-old paid off in the best way possible. Van Persie led the Red Devis to their 20th league title scoring 26 goals as United clinched another Premier League trophy.

A similar situation could be seen with Sanchez. However, the Chilean’s addition might see the likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford get lesser playing time as he operates in a central role now. It remains to be seen whether Mourinho cements the club’s interest with a bid in the summer.

Interest from Europe

FC Bayern a very attractive option for Sanchez

A move to Carlo Ancelotti’s Bayern Munich is also another big club option for Sanchez. The Bavarian giants are one of many clubs linked with the Chilean and could make a move for him in the summer, given that the likes of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben are ageing.

Sanchez’s agent Fernando Felicevich reportedly wants his client to join the reigning Bundesliga champions in the summer. However, there seems to be a conflict of interest between the player and the agent. Felicevich is also the agent of Sanchez’s national team-mate Arturo Vidal at Bayern. Despite the interest from the German champions, Sanchez is rumoured to prefer a stay in the Premier League.

Cavani welcomes move for Sanchez at PSG

It seems as though PSG are hell-bent on getting every talented attacker in Europe amongst their ranks with Alexis Sanchez, being the latest of their transfer targets. The Paris-based clubs boast a rich roster of South American talents with the likes of Lucas Moura, Edinson Cavani and Angel Di Maria leading the line for the club.

PSG Manager Unai Emery has reportedly taken a personal interest in bringing Sanchez to the Parc Des Prince outfit in the summer and a move to the club could give the Chilean the wages he feels he deserves or even more possibly.

PSG came very close to going even further in the Champions League this season, crumbling against the might of FC Barcelona. The addition of Sanchez might be the last piece of the puzzle that Emery has to solve at the club and bring European success to the French capital club.
