Three Teams That Should Be Interested in Le’Veon Bell

Free agent running back Le’Veon Bell sat out all of last year for the Pittsburgh Steelers because of contract reasons. Bell now is a free agent and there will be a lot of teams bidding for him come March 13th but for now, we will keep guessing what teams will be interested in the multiple time Pro Bowl running back. Here are the top three teams that should be interested in Bell.

Top Three Teams That Should Be Interested in Le’Veon Bell

New York Jets

The New York Jets are a fascinating team when it comes to being in on Le’Veon Bell. The Jets have $95.3M in cap space. Even with the money he wants this is more than enough to sign Bell. The Jets also drafted their future quarterback in Sam Darnold. The Jets have questions at the Running Back position and Bell would certainly help out Darnold while he develops in the league. If it all works out, with the ability of Bell as a dual threat with running as well as catching out of the backfield, Darnold and Bell could build something very special and give new head coach Adam Gase something to work with. Every team in the AFC East has one goal and its to overtake the New England Patriots. Although getting Bell will probably not be enough to beat the Patriots, it would certainly give the Jets hope that they can be a challenge to the Patriots.

Houston Texans

The Houston Texans have a good running back in Lamar Miller but getting Le’Veon Bell would be a huge upgrade. The Texans have $77.9M in cap space which is more than enough to sign a guy like Bell. The Texans have a good team. They have the players to make a run but every time they make the playoffs they come up short. They need someone to put them over the top. With Deshaun Watson and Bell, it could certainly do that. The Texans want to win while they have their core together. Getting Bell would certainly increase their chances of advancing deep into the playoffs.

Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts got back quarterback Andrew Luck last season. At the beginning of the season, his arm strength wasn’t there and couldn’t make the throws that we are used to seeing him make and they started 1-5. Since that point, Luck got his arm strength back and he looked like the Andrew Luck of old. He led the Colts to the AFC Divisional round but fell short. Another big part of the run was running back Marlon Mack. Although the duo of Luck and Mack was good, the duo of Luck and Bell would be even better and special. As we saw last season and in years past, Luck can lead a team to the playoffs. With the addition of Bell, this duo would be one of the best in the league. The Colts have $107.7M in cap space which is the most in the league. Getting Bell would be huge and the Colts would have a lot of money to go spend elsewhere as well. The offensive line was certainly one of the best down the stretch and any running back would love to have a line like that. If they play their cards right, the Colts could build a potential Super Bowl team starting with running back Le’Veon Bell.
