There are those that would say that an ugly uniform is completely subjective, but I would argue that some uniforms give up the subjectivity. The most amazing thing is that someone actually designed these uniforms and other people actually thought that the uniforms would be a good idea. I know that the suspense is killing you, so without further ado, here are the five ugliest uniforms of all time.
5 – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ creamsicle uniforms
Number five on our list is every bit as bad as you would expect it to be. The orange color is bad enough, but when it is paired with the plain white pants that orange just leaps out. I can’t prove it, but I think that this uniform might be why the Bucs lost 26 in a row to begin their history.
4 – The Jacksonville Jaguars color rush uniforms
The criminals behind number four on our list decided to put the Jags in a mustard color from shoulder to shoe. This makes the players look like that had an unfortunate accident while making a hot dog. I must acknowledge that this is only a “color rush” uniform, the fact that it is not a permanent uniform saves it from being much higher on the list.
3 – The 2015 Cleveland Browns
All brown from shoulder to toe with those pumpkin-colored helmets, it is hard enough to be a Cleveland Browns fan without this vile abomination of a uniform. The worst part? Putting Cleveland across the chest. Is that to remind the other team who they are playing or is it there as a “return to” label in case a player gets lost?
2 – The Pittsburgh Steelers “bumblebee” uniforms
Once again, some designer is stealing money from a poor unfortunate NFL team. How did anyone think that this is a good idea? The horizontal black and yellow striped jerseys and matching socks over tan pants. This uniform looks like a Casual Friday gone horribly wrong.
1 – The Philadelphia Eagle 2007 throw backs
If you want proof that the good old days weren’t always good, you need look no further than the 2007 throwbacks that the Eagles wore. The powder blue and gold replicas of the 1934 uniforms were just plain awful. You could argue that they work better in 1934 as black and white was the medium in which they were most often seen.
This list was not nearly as easy to compile as some of the others. There are some truly bad uniforms out there. These are the worst of the worst. After viewing these, you can’t unsee them. On Friday, I will tackle the other end of the spectrum, the best looking uniforms of all time.
