The XFL hasn’t started yet but the main draft has past and the supplemental draft just ended. Training Camp starts in December and then it all starts in February. Odds have already come out as to who will win the XFL Championship. This is solely based on the players each team drafted because that’s all we have to go one. The XFL is getting closer and closer and we can’t wait!
Odds To Win The XFL Championship
Dallas Renegades: 3/1
The Dallas Renegades are alone at the top with the best odds to win the inaugural XFL Championship. They view that the Renegades have the best team with Bob Stoops coaching and quarterback Landry Jones under center. They also drafted former NFL talent Tommylee Lewis with their second pick at the skill position and Hau’oli Kikaha who had eight sacks in the NFL and was on the leader board with two forced fumbles.
New York Guardians: 4/1
They view the New York Guardians as a very good team that could challenge the Renegades. Head coach Kevin Gilbride lead former NFL quarterback Matt McGloin and wide receiver DeAngelo Yancey onto the field as they share MetLife Stadium with both New York teams in the NFL. Some other notable players to look out for are tight end E.J Bibbs and Cornerback Jamar Summers. This team has the talent and looks to bring it all together in February.
Los Angeles Wildcats: 5/1
The Los Angeles Wildcats had two quarterbacks assigned to them as they will have a hard choice between Luis Perez and Josh Jonhson. The Wildcats have a talented running back in Elijah Hood out of North Carolina. Wide receiver Nelson Spruce was a great pick along with receiver Rashad Ross. Los Angeles has two NFL teams and has a lot of sports teams and now will add another in the Wildcats.
Tampa Bay Vipers: 5/1
The Tampa Bay Vipers tie the Wildcats with the third-best odds to win the XFL Championship. The Vipers picked one of the best coaches available in Marc Trestman. He gets a very talented quarterback in Aaron Murray out of Georgia. Murray set a University of Georgia record with 3,049 in passing yards in 13 games. He has a lot of great stats when he was with Georgia but didn’t get a chance in the NFL but played in the AAF before getting drafted by the Vipers. He will get great protection with offensive linemen Jordan McCray and Martez Ivey. Tampa Bay will be a great market for the XFL.
Houston Roughnecks: 7/1
The Houston Roughnecks are at 7/1 odds despite having one of the best quarterbacks in Connor Cook, a good receiver for the XFL in Sammie Coates, and running back Kahlil Lewis. They will have an explosive offense this season. They might be towards the bottom on this list, but don’t be surprised if they are towards the top in the regular season.
D.C. Defenders: 8/1
The team in the nation’s capital might be popular with fans but not on the odds board. They took a very talented quarterback in Cardale Jones. The D.C. Defenders have good pieces all around like receivers Rashard Davis and Eli Rodgers along with pass protector Kyle Murphy. They will be a dark horse as they are led by head coach Pep Hamilton.
Seattle Dragons: 10/1
The Seattle Dragons will have their hands full in picking between Brandon Silvers and Chase Litton as their next quarterback. Their roster isn’t as deep as the other but they have guys like defensive tackle Will Sutton and cornerback Kentrell Brice. Head coach Jim Zorn will have his hands full.
St. Louis BattleHawks: 10/1
The St. Louis Battlehawks are tied for last to win the championship. St. Louis is the only XFL team not to have an NFL team. The city recently lost the St. Louis Rams a few years ago and they’re craving some football. In just a matter of moments, quarterback Jordan Ta’amu became very popular among fans. The Battlehawks have good talent on their squad.
They have running back Christine Michael who was very good in college and in the NFL. He should be one of the best backs in the XFL. They also have running back Matt Jones who was also very good in college and had a short solid career in the NFL. The running back duo in St. Louis is one of the best if not the best in the league. They can be an explosive offense but the talent isn’t near the other teams in the eyes of Vegas.
The Return Of The XFL
It was already said that the new XFL will be nowhere near what the old XFL was. They are testing rules and plays to see what works and will give all eight teams film to study when training camp starts in December. Vince McMahon has enough money for at least three years of the XFL and maybe even more. The longevity of the league is very important not only for these players but for the fans and the city. It will be a very interesting league to watch come February.
