The 2024 regular season is just like any regular season before it for one reason: this will be a season half the NFL teams wants to remember, while the other half wanting to forget about it. The playoffs will be upon us in no time, and everyone has their own takes as to how the rest of the season will shape into.
Here are some not-so-hot takes as to what will happen at the end of the 2024 regular season.
NFL 2024 Predictions: Halftime Report
The 2024 NFL MVP Will Be a Raven
As it stands, the Baltimore Ravens are looking like the overall top dog in the AFC North, with Pittsburgh not far behind. John Harbaugh’s team is also turning into a team favored to make the Super Bowl. Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry headline the most dominant offensive backfield in the league, and an offense averaging the second most points forced in the NFL. It is safe to say that the 2024 NFL MVP could very well stay in Baltimore.
But whether it will be Action Jackson or King Henry hoisting up the hardware is anyone’s guess. In the meantime, The Ravens will have to keep ten toes down to maintain their division lead, and exceed their playoff success from the last campaign.
Dan Quinn Wins “Coach of the Year”
The Washington Commanders have made it clear that they’re just about done with this “rebuilding process.” Josh Harris, the team’s new owner, stood on business in assembling his management and coaching staff for this new era. Acquiring Dan Quinn, the former Defensive Coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys, was arguably one of the best offseason moves Harris has made.
Quinn, on the other hand, has formed not only the leading team in the NFC East, but he has built rookie Jayden Daniels as a future superstar under the bright lights. If Washington stays on its current course, Quinn could be named the 2024 “NFL Coach of the Year,” and it won’t be hard to see why.
At Least Three Teams Will Commence “Rebuilding” After the Season
For every team in the hunt for a playoff spot, there is another team scrapping the bottom of the barrel. Many of the teams who represent the latter should look past this season and plan for the next chapter ahead. The New Orleans Saints have already fired Dennis Allen, indicating a change in direction. But the Big Easy will be far from the only team potentially entering the “rebuild.”
From the dumpster fires currently burning in Dallas, Cleveland, Jacksonville, Nashville, Charlotte, and two in East Rutherford, NJ; at least one of the teams will most likely hit the RESET button at the conclusion of the 2024 season. But the end results will be mixed, as with any rebuilding phase. While a team like the Jets, Jaguars, Browns, and Cowboys have plenty of impact players they can trade for draft capitals and cap room relief, the Panthers and the Titans have next to nothing to offer.
Nevertheless, it will have to get worse before they get better for either of the aforementioned squads.
