Manchester United agree to sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton for a fee of £75 million.
They hope for the transfer to be completed before they fly out to the United States on Sunday, working with a two-day window to sort personal terms and a medical.
Manchester United Agree £75m Romelu Lukaku Deal
Lukaku was widely expected to re-join former side Chelsea as the current Premier League champions look to replace Diego Costa, who is also set to move to a former club – Atletico Madrid.
Manchester United had supposedly been pursuing Alvaro Morata, with suggestions he could instead be available for their pre-season tour. However, all interest in the Spanish striker seems to have ended.
Lukaku has been on holiday with soon-to-be teammate and close friend Paul Pogba, and the two will likely report to Carrington together in the coming days. Lukaku works with agent Mino Raiola. Raiola also represents three recent United signees: Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
