NBA Season

How to make the most of the last few weeks of this NBA season

The NBA regular season ends on April 10th. After that, playoff season will start and last until mid-June. While the playoffs are great, this means we only have a few weeks left of regular basketball.

It might be for the best that the season is ending soon. Tempers among players seem to be flaring up more than usual. We haven’t seen anything like the brawls that interrupted games in previous years but it’s probably in everyone’s best interests for players to have some time off the court and out of each other’s faces sooner rather than later.

Making the Most of the Last Weeks of this NBA Season

For fans though, it’s always hard to say goodbye to the sport you love. Off-season is basically a dirty word for die-hard fans. So, what can you do to make the most of the last few weeks of this NBA season? We have a few suggestions:

Go mad for March Madness

Sad about the NBA season ending? Watch as many March Madness games as you can. Not only is it great basketball, you’ll also be able to get a good look at the players who will probably be the stars of the upcoming draft this summer.

March Madness also means brackets! Filling in brackets for the NCAA Championship has been a popular activity for decades, especially when they’re part of a friendly betting pool among friends or colleagues. Now that sports betting is legal is most states, you can take these friendly wagers to a

whole new level.

The NCAA championship is one of the biggest betting events of the year, second only to the Super Bowl. Besides being a fun way to dive into sports betting, it also means that most of the top sportsbooks have special bonuses and promotions just for March Madness.

Plan a mock draft

Once you’ve watched as many March Madness games as you can, it’s the perfect time to plan a mock draft. The finals weeks of the NBA season will give you an opportunity to really study how each team is holding up and where they might need to make some changes.

Trying to figure out which college players have the most potential and where they could be the best fit is a really interesting exercise. It lets you test your knowledge of the teams, players and coaches and can really help you appreciate the difficult decisions that go into building a team.

Get ready for the playoffs

Just because the regular season is ending doesn’t mean that basketball is done for the year, the playoffs will start before you know it. The last few weeks before the regular season ends are some of the most exciting as teams battle to climb up the league table to try and secure a playoff spot for themselves.

The March Madness brackets should give you some practice, so by the time the NBA playoffs come around, you can be a prediction pro. Watching the final games of the regular season can help you figure out who your favorites are, what underdogs may have a chance, and what teams have totally blown their chances this year.

Planning for the playoffs while watching the last games of the regular season is a great way to keep it from feeling like it is the end of something you love.

Enjoy the off-the-court news

Just because the season is ending doesn’t mean there won’t be anything basketball-related to watch or do or talk about. This doesn’t mean you need to go the reality TV route and binge watch past seasons of Basketball Wives — though no judgment if you do, reality TV is popular for a reason!

With the season winding down, you can spend more of your time looking at off-the-court news that you might have missed during the height of the season when there were seven or eight games a night.

One interesting item that could definitely spark discussion among your fellow fans is the current debate over who the next sneaker king will be. Michael Jordan has held that title for decades but with the way that sneaker culture has developed in the 2000s, he could have a challenger. LeBron James’ Heart of Lion sneakers pushed the boundaries of acceptable sneaker fashion and were a hit. So, who else could be next? In our opinion, Jayson Tatum and LaMelo Ball are both contenders for the sneaker king title.

Of course, if none of that is enough basketball, with spring finally on the way, you could also hit the court and enjoy the sport firsthand.
