Five Unforgettable Moments From the First Half of the Jays Season

The Toronto Blue Jays season so far has been a mix of ups and downs but they’ve definitely had a lot of memorable moments. The All-Star Break is practically here and while there is still a lot of baseball to be played, we know fans are really looking for the Jays to turn things around and continue with their offensive spark.

The Jays have had some exciting moments this season that have left us proud, shocked, and on our toes. From diving catches to walk-off hits, let’s take a look at some of these monumental moments in the first half of the season.

Five Memorable Moments From the First Half of the Jays Season

Danny Jansen Walk-off Win

Who could forget when Danny Jansen ripped a single to left field to cash in two runs and bring the Blue Jays to a 6-5 win over the Atlanta Braves? It was an exciting game filled with a lot of energy and it was nice for the Jays to come back and seal that win in the ninth inning. Danny Jansen was ultimately the hero in that game.

It was an exciting ball game along with an exciting finish by Jansen as he was able to produce with two outs. It was also a memorable moment as the Jays also swept the Braves who are the top team in the NL East. The way the game was going the Jays had to find a way to win and they did.

Scoring 20 Runs

Back on May 23rd, 2023, the bats broke out in a big way in Tampa Bay, scoring an outrageous twenty runs. against the Tampa Bay Rays. In addition, the Jays managed to score their last 10 runs off position players. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. also had six RBIs in the game.

This 20-1 win will certainly become memorable in Jays history.

Vladdy Crushes it at Home

A memorable moment for both Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the Blue Jays was when Guerrero hit his first home run at the Rogers Centre. Vladdy hit a three-run homer off Oakland Athletics pitcher, James Kaprielian and erases his hitting drought.

His first home run at home this season was a blast and a long time coming. “Vladdy” had gone 153 plate appearances without hitting a home run at Rogers Centre, so you can imagine how significant that game was. Guerrero also hadn’t hit a home run in 16 games, so it was just what the doctor ordered.

Bo Bichette vs the Astros

Bo Bichette is the type of player and athlete that is known for his clutch plays on the field as he can cover a lot of ground. One of the prime examples of this was the game against the Houston Astros. Bo had to go after the ball very quickly and you can see how he charges after the ball to make the play and get the out at first. The play was very close but he gets the runner out.

George Springer vs the White Sox

On July 6th against the Chicago White Sox, George Springer made a huge diving catch in right field, keeping the game scoreless in the third inning. His athleticism really shined through in this game. George is a great all-around player and he is a player that can lead by example. Springer also plays with tremendous passion which is very noticeable on the field.

Go Jays Go

The first half of the Blue Jays season showcased a lot of exciting moments from memorable home runs to big diving catches on the field. The Jays come from a team that can hit as six of the guys on the team are hitting 10 or more home runs. While the team has had its struggles they’ve turned things around recently with an offensive spark. Hopefully, this can continue after the All-Star break. When Guerrero’s offense is hot, the Jays do well and that’s been evident this season.
