Taylor Hall

Five Potential Landing Spots For Taylor Hall

Taylor Hall is on the last year of his deal and will become a free agent. New Jersey Devils general manager Ray Shero has started listening to offers. Even though he is a rental, teams will have to give up something big for his services. Hall won the Hart Trophy in 2018 with the Devils and carried them to the playoffs in the same year. He is a very talented player that many teams would love to have. He would be an instant upgrade to any team. Many teams are rumored to be interested but the list has been narrowed down to five potential landing spots for Taylor Hall.

Five Potential Landing Spots For Taylor Hall

Montreal Canadiens

The Montreal Canadiens would be a great fit for Hall. They have the cap space and can retain him for as long as he wants. He would be surrounded by good pieces and would be the number one guy for a great franchise. The Canadiens also have a bright future to look forward to as they have a healthy amount of draft picks and prospects on their way. Getting Hall would give this franchise a huge boost.

Edmonton Oilers

This potential landing spot could put him right back where he started his career and that’s with the Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers would need to clear some cap because they are paying Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl but they will do it if that means getting a guy like Hall. For years, the Oilers have fallen short in the playoffs or making the playoffs at all. Yes, McDavid and Draisaitl are one of the best duos in the league but they need more of a supporting cast and who other than the kid that started it all in Edmonton.

Colorado Avalanche

The Colorado Avalanche are in win-now mode with Nathan MacKinnon as the face of the franchise. They have a lot of cap space to work with and Hall would be a nice addition to an already crowded team full of stars. They’ve managed to keep winning with road bumps along the way so adding a person of his skill might put them over the top. The Avalanche want to go all in this year and next for a chance at the Stanley Cup and Hall would put them even more in the conversation.

Nashville Predators

Ever since the Nashville Predators lost in the 2017 Stanley Cup Finals, they haven’t been the same. A team with a lot of talent and a premier goaltender can’t seem to get over the hump. The Predators are willing to do whatever it takes to bring the first Stanley Cup to Nashville. Hall would be surrounded by a lot of talent in Viktor Arvidsson and Ryan Johansen. Clearing cap space shouldn’t be a problem for them as they have talented players they could trade to other teams. This would be a perfect fit for Hall.

Pittsburgh Penguins

Of course, the Pittsburgh Penguins are in the Hall sweepstakes. The Penguins have stars all around and could add another if they land him. Sidney Crosby is injured so Hall would fill in for him until he gets back. Once he gets back, this Penguins lineup would be even more dangerous. They are certainly still competing for a Stanley Cup and Hall would be just another dangerous player for the Penguins that teams will have to stop.

The Last Shot

The Devils need goal-tending as all of these teams have one to give away. Hall is a very valuable player so the Devils need to play this right. The Devils are rebuilding right now and getting rid of him would help them get more picks and prospects. He’s entering free agency after this year so this is the perfect opportunity to trade him before he leaves and they get nothing. The Hall sweepstakes are heating up and the talk is going to be fun.
