Championship weekend has come to an end in college football and that means it’s time for bowl games and the College Football Playoffs. After this weekend, there will be a new number four team and that’s Oklahoma. The top three teams stay the same but LSU moved back to number one after their strong performances in the Conference Championship. No matter the seeding, this College Football Playoff will be a great one.
College Football Conference Championship Results
Pac-12 Championship: Oregon beat Utah 37-15
Oregon crushed any chances of Utah getting into the Playoff. Utah got ran over all night by running back C.J Verdell. Oregon was all over Utah from the start of the game. They grabbed an early lead and never looked back. Utah just had to win and they were in but that’s just out the window now. If Oregon didn’t have a slip up last week against Arizona State, we would be talking about them being in the playoff. Not many saw this coming the way it did.
ACC Championship: Clemson beat Virginia 62-17
As expected, Clemson rolled Virginia big. Clemson has been hot down the stretch and it looks like they are just getting started. They will be a very dangerous team to beat heading into the playoff. They stay at number three, so Ohio State will be looking right into the eyes of Trevor Lawrence and the defending national champions.
Big 12 Championship: Oklahoma beat Baylor 30-23 in OT
A rematch took place but this time for the Big 12 Championship. In their first meeting, Oklahoma came back from a 28-3 deficient to win it. This time, it was a different story. Oklahoma still won the game but it was very close throughout. At times, it looked like Oklahoma was going to run away with it but Baylor stayed in the game with their defense and answered the bell on offense. The winner of this game was going to be in the playoff and that is Oklahoma.
Big Ten Championship: Ohio State beat Wisconsin 34-21
What a tale of two halves this game was. In the first half, Wisconsin shut down one of the top teams in the country. They lead 21-3 at the half and the defense was swarming Justin Fields. Jonathan Taylor ran out of his mind but not everything went like the first half. Ohio State changed their game plan and came out on fire. Wisconsin had their moments on defense, but the plan for the opposition was too much. They threw all over the Badgers defense and J.K Dobbins ran down their throats. The Buckeyes overcame adversity by scoring 27 unanswered points and maybe that’s just what they needed heading into the playoff.
SEC Championship: LSU beat Georgia 37-10
The game of the day wasn’t much of a game. Many thought Georgia would make adjustments and be ready for LSU’s offense but that wasn’t the case. Heisman favorite Joe Burrow had an amazing game. He threw for 349 yards and four touchdowns. He made great throws that the Georgia defense couldn’t stop. Receiver Justin Jefferson went off as well when he caught seven passes for 115 yards and a touchdown. Nothing worked for the Bulldogs at all. Nobody showed up to play but it might be just as simple as LSU is as every bit the team we think they are.

Mountain West: Boise State beat Hawaii 31-10
AAC: Memphis beat Cincinnati 29-24
Final Note
The College Football Playoffs is setting up to be great. Number two Ohio State will face number three Clemson and number one LSU will face number four Oklahoma. Every team in the playoffs has a strength and little to no weaknesses, especially the top three. There will be three undefeated teams headed into the playoffs and only one can stay undefeated the rest of the way. We are just weeks away from the playoffs and it’s getting everyone excited.
