Candace Parker leads LA Sparks to victory with near double-double

Candace Parker near double-double helps the Los Angeles Sparks earn a victory over the Dallas Wings.

No Nneka Ogwumike and no Brian Agler no problem for the Los Angeles Sparks. Chelsea Gray stepped up in clutch moments and Alana Beard continued to show why she is an All-Star.

The box score and statistics will not show how much of an impact she had on the game. Beard is an excellent defender as that is her specialty, yet she is a dual-threat player and can score on the offense when called on. Her energy and hustle is what helps the team change their pace of the game.

Candace Parker had a season high of twenty-nine points along with seven assists, and five rebounds. Chelsea Gray with about three minutes left in the fourth quarter came in, created space, and scored putting the Sparks up by one possession leading to the Sparks make baskets in the last minutes and a victory.

Beard recorded five rebounds, four steals, and six points, but it was the energy she brought to the floor that made the difference. The Los Angeles Sparks one more assets than their opponent at seventeen. However, their rebounding totals they lost in that category.

They lost in that category thirty-nine to thirty-one because of the Dallas Wings center Liz Cabbage. Cambage herself had fourteen rebounds about half the total of her teams and she posted twenty-five points.

Los Angeles Sparks Candace Parker faced a tough assignment in guarding Cambage. Cambage was a force to be reckoned with in the paint. However, it was Parker who got the last laugh with the team victory over the Dallas Wings.

The LA Sparks played as team moving the ball around finding the open teammate. When they were being locked down defensively they were still able to space the floor. By spacing the floor it allowed the player who had the ball to create space and make a play. Some of these key plays included none other than Candace Parker, Alana Beard, and Chelsea Gray.
