We looked at the worst uniforms of all time here and, as promised, here are the list of the best NFL uniforms. This list includes all uniforms from all eras including color rush uniforms. So let’s get started.
The Best NFL Uniforms
5. The Pittsburgh Steelers color rush uniform
The Steelers have an iconic uniform, but the color rush uniforms are even cooler. The yellow on black draws the eye without the distraction of the white. Honestly, this is an intimidating look. The Steelers should consider adopting this look year-round.
4. 1962 San Diego Chargers
The lightning bolts are awesome. Put them on the helmets for the win. Add them to the shoulders and it is a wonderful look. The blue and yellow works well together, too. Although the “rebranding” that the current Charger ownership attempted would have been better served to throw back to this look.
3. 1996 Baltimore Ravens
The royal purple makes this uniform awesome. I know that the Minnesota Vikings did the purple look long before, but the Ravens perfected it. I wouldn’t have gone with the white stripe on the black pants, but that is why I am writing about the uniforms and not designing them. This is still one of the most awesome uniforms of all time.
2. The New Orleans Saints
The classic black and gold is a clean look for an NFL team. I am not a fan of the emblem, but it does not detract from the overall look of the uniform. I think that the key to the look is the simplistic lack of extra ornamentation. In this case, less is definitely more.
1. The Oakland Raiders
With all the talk of relocation, there should be no chance of a Raiders rebrand. The silver and black is the most iconic uniform in the NFL and one of the top in all of sports. Nope, not the Dallas Cowboys—it’s just a star people. Without a doubt, the solid black uniform is the best in the NFL.
