In its efforts to expand the game globally, the NFL announced a record-setting seven regular-season international games that are to be played in 2025. There are matchups that are set to kick off in London, Sao Paulo, Dublin, Madrid, and Berlin. Global reach has been a success so far but it’s just the beginning of what hopes to be an even greater sports spectacle around the world. Wagering or fans playing their favorite betting game online for the NFL would also be introduced more to a global audience, something that helps the intrigue of the league.
These handful of games are circled on the calendar each year and it’ll be fun to see what each game will bring in terms of fan interest and matchups. Stadium locations will also play a huge role in each game’s interest. Looking at and ranking each international NFL game in 2025 based on those criteria will be fun as we look forward to the season.
Ranking NFL International Games Scheduled For 2025
1. Jaguars vs TBD (Wembley Stadium; London)
Wembley Stadium hosted its first-ever NFL game in 2007. Fast forward to now and it’s become a yearly staple for the league to play there. The Jacksonville Jaguars have played 11 games at Wembley so far, which is the most in the league for a team. Because of that, the Jaguars have had a strong relationship with the U.K. fans and are kind of treated like their second home. Wembley is an iconic venue that is the largest in the U.K., seating a capacity of 90,000. The atmosphere is what makes this game one of the most looked forward to on the calendar, no matter what teams are playing.
2. Chargers vs TBD (Arena Corinthians; Sao Paulo)
The NFL took their first-ever trip to Sao Paulo, Brazil last season when the Philadelphia Eagles played the Green Bay Packers at Arena Corinthians. It was an electric atmosphere with a high-scoring game, making it a success. The league goes back this season hoping to create even more magic.
It will be played on September 5th, 2025, the day after the season kicks off. This time it will be the Los Angeles Chargers who are the designated team. The Chargers are on the rise with head coach Jim Harbaugh at the helm, creating an exciting team to watch go international. Whoever the opponent, the anticipation of this game is through the roof with it being the second overall game of the season.
3. Steelers vs TBD (Croke Park; Dublin)
This game will mark the first-ever regular-season NFL game played in Ireland at Croke Park. The Pittsburgh Steelers are the perfect team to send to a great international fanbase such as Ireland. The team’s rich history and world-class organization coincide with how historic the venue is and what it means. That fact alone will make this international game a must-see.
4. Colts vs TBD (Olympic Stadium; Berlin)
American football is growing a large fanbase in Germany and the NFL having their first-ever regular-season game at Olympic Stadium in Berlin was a lock. The stadium has held many historical sporting events and adding a regular-season NFL game checks another box. The Colts having a young Anthony Richardson still learning under center already adds a storyline to a game that already has hype surrounding it with the German crowd.
5. Dolphins vs TBD (Santiago Bernabeu; Madrid)
Playing at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid, Spain is huge for exposure and the NFL will look to capitalize on that. The venue is home to Real Madrid C.F., a historic soccer/football club, and has had legendary moments throughout its history. The Stadium is one of the most famous in the world and adding a fanbase in Spain will do wonders for international growth.
6. Jets vs TBD (Tottenham Hotspur Stadium; London)
The NFL is hosting two games at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and one of them will feature the New York Jets. They played a game against the Minnesota Vikings last year at the venue and get to return, hoping to grow an even bigger fanbase in London.
