Training camp has started for the incoming 2023-2024 NFL Season, and everyone is trying to figure out which teams are better, worse, or just the same as last year. Coaches are working through new schemes and are working to improve their performance from last season. These three teams have it figured out offensively, and either won the Super Bowl last year or were in their division championship games and came up short.
Top Three Offenses in the NFL Right Now
Philadelphia Eagles
The city of Philadelphia is reeling in its franchisee’s championship woes. Most of the organizations based in Philadelphia made it to the championship game in their respective sports, but none were able to win, including the Eagles after their Super Bowl loss, 38-35, to another team on this list, the Kansas City Chiefs.
The offense remains largely intact except for the departure of Miles Sanders, who signed with the Carolina Panthers. However, the Eagles traded for D’Andre Swift, a formidable back with an injury bug. The depth behind Swift consists of Rashaad Penny and Boston Scott; both have had significant roles before, specifically Penny with the Seattle Seahawks.
The franchise also extended/signed their star quarterback Jalen Hurts to a five-year contract after he led them to a regular season record of 14-3 and winning the NFC Championship.
The offensive personnel hasn’t changed much from their Super Bowl offense, although they did lose Shane Steichen to become the Head Coach of the Indianapolis Colts. The organization quickly promoted from within, moving quarterbacks coach Brian Johnson to Offensive Coordinator. The critical pieces of the championship-caliber offense are still there, making it Head Coach Nick Sirianni’s job to lead the Eagles back to the Super Bowl.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs continue to ride the championship train as they defeated Philadelphia in this past season’s Super Bowl.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes looks unstoppable even with a patchwork receiving corps in Kadarius Toney, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Skyy Moore. However, Tight End Travis Kelce continues to be unbelievable and the de facto first option for Mahomes.
The organization lost a solid playmaker in JuJu Smith-Schuster, who signed with the New England Patriots, but that means more targets for Kelce. In the run game, Isiah Pacheco appears to have taken the lead role away from Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and Jerick McKinnon is the second option as a backfield passing threat. After being taken in the seventh round by the Chiefs in last year’s draft, he blossomed into a high-level running back that can carry a large workload.
They did lose an elite Offensive Guard in Orlando Brown, who signed with the Cincinnati Bengals. So, the offensive line will not be as strong, but Mahomes continues to impress regardless of the situation. Andy Reid is a tier-one coach who knows how to win and will have no trouble getting this team to the Super Bowl with Mahomes and Kelce.

Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals have a star-studded roster that has to overcome the mountain that is the Kansas City Chiefs. Ja’Marr Chase is a top-three receiver in the league and has help from Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd, who are respected receivers on their own.
They lost a security blanket in tight end Hayden Hurst, who signed with the Carolina Panthers in free agency this year, but that means more targets for Chase, Higgins, and Boyd. The backfield looks to be strong as well, with Joe Mixon producing at a high level. They did lose Samaje Perine to the Denver Broncos, so there is no real depth behind the lead back.
However, the rise of Joe Burrow has been remarkable. Burrow led the Bengals to the AFC Championship game, where they would play the eventual Super Bowl Champion Chiefs, and left it all out on the field. The missing piece seems to be a solid offensive line to protect Burrow, so the Bengals went out and pried Orlando Brown away from Kansas City. Hopefully, Brown is the missing piece for a Bengals offense that always seems to come up short in the playoffs.
These three teams are true championship contenders with high-caliber players and wise coaching staff. Kansas City won the championship last year, but Philadelphia and Cincinnati are forces to be reckoned with. We could see a new champion this year, but the real question is who will be able to dethrone the new dynasty in Kansas City.
