2025 NFC Division Winners Predictions: Commanders, Rams Among NFC’s Best

After predicting the AFC Division winners, here are the NFC Division winners for 2025.

Predicting Each NFC Division Winner In 2025

NFC North: Detroit Lions

The NFC North might be the toughest division in football. Every team in the division is formidable, and a case could be made for each team to win. Though the Lions have some major questions about them this season, it’s tough to ignore how talented the team is on both sides of the ball.

Dan Campbell has quickly ascended to being one of the best coaches in the NFL, while quarterback Jared Goff provides a steady presence at quarterback that the other three teams in the division can’t quite match. The Lions had their defensive coordinator and offensive coordinator take head coaching jobs this offseason, and several staff members followed them. It might take a while for the Lions to find their groove as they get used to the new coaches, but they can still win the North in spite of the change.

NFC South: Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons are one of a handful of NFL teams with the most pressure on them this season. After narrowly missing out on the playoffs and coughing up the division to rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Falcons will look to stop their eight-year playoff drought.

Atlanta will unleash its 2024 first-round quarterback, Michael Penix Jr., in a full-time role, and his playmakers are some of the best in the league at their position. Bijan Robinson, Drake London, a solid offensive line, and Kyle Pitts will help Penix’s transition in his first full season as the starter for the Falcons. Atlanta also addressed their defense in the offseason, taking Jalon Walker and James Pearce Jr. in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft.

NFC East: Washington Commanders

The NFC East hasn’t had a repeat division winner since 2004. Yes, 2004. There have been 20 years since the Philadelphia Eagles represented as division winners in 2003 and 2004, and I believe the Washington Commanders will make it 21 years this season. After lighting the NFL world on fire last season behind rookie sensation Jayden Daniels, I believe the Commanders take the next step, and that starts with winning the division.

The Commanders went 12-5 last season and were a wild-card team in the NFC because of how dominant Philadelphia was last season. They won the division. The Commanders might not win 12 games in 2025, but that might not be needed to take the division. In Dan Quinn’s second season as the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, he took the team to the Super Bowl, and the Commanders will be a favorite pick to represent the NFC in 2025.

Daniels, continuing to build on his rookie season, will be key to the Commanders’ season, and it bodes well for him that Washington was able to retain their offensive coordinator, Kliff Kingsbury, after having interest in head coaching jobs from other teams this offseason.

NFC West: Los Angeles Rams

If the Rams won the NFC West in 2025, it wouldn’t be a surprise, and if the Rams won the Super Bowl, that wouldn’t be much of a surprise either. From head coach to quarterback to young talent, the Rams have the pieces to be one of the best teams in the entire NFL.

LA will have stiff competition for the West crown. The San Francisco 49ers are coming off a down season, and their strength of schedule comes in at the easiest schedule in the NFL this season. The Seattle Seahawks and the Rams finished with the same record last season, but a tie-breaker sequence gave the Rams the division crown. The Seahawks will be a tough out, as will the Arizona Cardinals, who are getting better.
