Week seven might’ve been the best week of the BIG3 season so far, with all games being close and many great individual/team performances. There were a total of six double-doubles tallied across the league this week and a record tying performance. There’s only two weeks remaining of the BIG3 regular season and the standings are still tight at the top across the league. Look for players and teams to up the intensity even more in their quest for the BIG3 championship.
BIG3 Basketball Week 7 Top Performances
Greg Monroe (Dallas Power)
Week 7 stats: 25 points, 18 rebounds, 1 steak, 2 blocks
A dominant performance from Greg Monroe enabled the Dallas Power to improve to 4-2. He had one of the best all-around games in the BIG3 this season, scoring 25 points and adding a massive 18 rebounds to finish off the double-double. Monroe’s 18 rebounds tied the BIG3 single-game record, which was held by Reggie Evans in 2018, who actually grabbed 18 rebounds twice that season. Monroe is also nearly averaging a double-double for the season, leading the league in rebounds per game. This was definitely his best performance of his BIG3 career and continues to play a huge part in the Power’s success.
Jeremy Pargo (Detroit Amps)
Week 7 stats: 23 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block
Jeremy Pargo has had a down year in the BIG3 this season as he’s struggled to shoot the ball, which is uncharacteristic for him. In the Detroit Amps victory this week, you wouldn’t have guessed that. Pargo had his best game of the season and best shooting performance, as he scored a season-high 23 points while making three from behind the arc. Joe Johnson is slated to miss the rest of the season due to injury, so Pargo knows he has to channel the Pargo of old that succeeded with and without Johnson on the floor. If this is just a preview of what we can expect moving forward, the Amps have hope without the best player in the league.
Montrezl Harrell (Chicago Triplets)
Week 7 stats: 22 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks
There’s quite a race for the BIG3 Rookie of the Year award this season, and Montrezl Harrell very well could be the frontrunner. He’s been one of the league’s top performers this year, and this week was no different. Harrell got his first double-double of the season with 22 points and 10 rebounds. He also added in two blocks, something he’s excelled at this season as well. His worst game of the season came last week when he scored only seven points but made sure to correct that and lead Power to a 4-2. record.
Lance Stephenson (Miami 305)
Week 7 stats: 22 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists
There was no Michael Beasley for the Miami 305 this week due to a knee injury, but that didn’t stop them from getting the win. The duo of Lance Stephenson and Sean Williams had their best games of the season, each sporting a double-double. In Stephenson’s case, he scored a season-high 22 points and also tallied a season-high 10 rebounds while hitting the game-winner. He’s having a great BIG3 rookie season and stepped up his play even more when his team needed him to lead.Â
Jordan Crawford (LA Riot)
Week 7 stats: 22 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal
Jordan Crawford continues to shine for the LA Riot. He’s been their go-to scorer this season, highlighted by his impressive 28 points in week 2. This week, he scored the most points since that big performance, tallying 22 points. Unfortunately for LA, Crawford’s performance mixed with Dwight Howard‘s wasn’t even enough to overcome Pargo and Detroit. Crawford has shown to explode in big games, and with the Riot looking for a push, don’t be surprised if you see more of these type of games from him.
