Week 6 in the BIG3 was the most important week of the season so far, with the playoff race in full force as we head down the stretch of season 8. The standings have gotten tight around the league, with SIX teams having a record of 3-2. The last two teams have one win on the season, as DMV Trilogy picked up its first victory. This race is going to go down to the last week of the season, and it’s an exciting time for all around the BIG3.
BIG3 Basketball Week 6 Top Performances
Â
Michael Beasley (Miami 305)
Week 6 stats: 25 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist
It’s no surprise that Michael Beasley headlines the top performances again this week in the BIG3. He followed up his dominant 30-point game in week 5 with 25 points this week. Beasley was unstoppable in the first half, scoring 18 of Miami 305‘s 25 points to begin the game. He struggled a little bit in the second half, only scoring seven points as Miami fell in a three-point loss. Even with that, he put up the most points for the second consecutive week and has shown no signs of stopping.
Earl Clark (DMV Trilogy)
Week 6 stats: 21 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist
DMV Trilogy secured their first victory of the BIG3 season, and Earl Clark was the main catalyst for it. Last week, he put up a season-high 28 points and grabbed eight boards in a loss. This week, he put up 21 points with nine rebounds in a win. When Trilogy needed to secure the game, Clark answered by scoring 9 of the last 11 points for his team. He had help with newcomer Will Barton scoring 13 points, something to keep an eye on as a potential duo threat in the BIG3.
Jonathon Simmons (Boston Ball Hogs)
Week 6 stats: 19 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal
The Boston Ball Hogs are above .500 thanks to the consistency of Jonathon Simmons week in and week out. This week was no different as he scored 19 points, the third time doing so. This also marks five times in five games that he’s scored 18 or more points. As mentioned in the past, Simmons is one of the most underrated players in the BIG3, and it’s about time he gets the attention that some of these other guys are getting.
Greg Monroe (Dallas Power)
Week 6 stats: 18 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal
Greg Monroe had a career game in a week that the Dallas Power needed it against Beasley and the Miami 305. He tallied a double-double, scoring a BIG3 career-high 18 points and dominating the boards with 15 rebounds. This comes off two weeks’ rest with a bye, and then coaching responsibilities in the NBA last week. Monroe played a big part in the all-around great performance for the Power that resulted in the win.
