James Harden 2

James Harden’s Top Five Scoring Games This Season

Ever since Utah Jazz player Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19, the NBA and the sports world have been shaken. Since then, all sports have been shutdown. Sports fans are desperate for any sports news or talk around any league. The NBA season has shut down for now but it still hopes to come back in the summer. Houston Rockets guard James Harden is a player that hopes the league resumes soon. He was having a great year and was scoring at will. It’s going to be hard getting back into game shape if it continues but if anyone can, it’s Harden. As the season is at pause, let’s take a look at Harden’s top five scoring games so far this season from Harden.

James Harden’s Top Five Scoring Games This Season

12/3: Spurs (50 Points)

The Rockets took the Texas showdown on the road to face the San Antonio Spurs. This game went back and forth for a while. Harden had to battle Lonnie Walker‘s 29 points from the bench. Harden put up 50 points and nine rebounds but it wasn’t enough as the Spurs won 135-133 in 2OT. Everyone was talking about this great game and Harden’s performance despite the loss.

12/13: Magic (54 Points)

Home court advantage or not, Harden was poised to put on a show anywhere he went and that’s what happened against the Orlando Magic. Harden shot the ball well as the Rockets blew out the Magic 130-107 in Orlando. He put up 54 points on 19-31 from the field, including an outstanding 10-15 from three. Harden took over from tip-off to the end of the game. James had a similar game a couple of days before this so this has been seen many times before.

12/11: Cavaliers (55 Points)

The Rockets took on the Cleveland Cavaliers in Cleveland where they experienced what Harden can do. In a close win, he scored 55 points on 20-34 from the field. He hit 10-18 threes on another spectacular night. To follow up this performance with the one he had against the Magic a couple of days before this, it shows you the confidence and skill of this man.

10/30: Wizards (59 Points)

Just four games in, Harden scored an impressive 59 points against the Washington Wizards in a very crazy game. You knew this was going to happen soon because he scored 40 in the game before this one. The Rockets needed every single point as they won a high scoring game 159-158. He made 18 buckets, six of them were from three. Harden had some big competition that night as Bradley Beal scored 46 points and was also shooting well from the field. It came down to the last seconds and Harden got the best of Beal and the Wizards that night. A month later, Harden had one of the best games of his career.

11/30: Hawks (60 Points)

The Atlanta Hawks had no answers whatsoever for the best of Harden’s top five performances that night. He scored a season-high 60 points and that continues to be his career-high. Harden put on an absolute clinic and once he got going, he couldn’t be stopped. He was 16-24 from the field while making eight threes. He did this all in 30 minutes, which is on the lower end for him. The Rockets blew the Hawks out 158-111. This was not only his best game of the season but as mentioned before, one of the best performances in his great career.

Final Shot

Harden is one of the best basketball players on the planet and he has a lot of skills to prove it. It’s easy to say that Harden’s top five games are what others can only dream of. At one point this season, he had a historic streak of 32 games in a row with 30-point games. He is considered one of the best scorers the game has ever seen and it’s hard to argue that. Harden has struggled a little down the stretch but he was so good this season that he still is averaging 34.4 points per game. If the season continues with the rest he’s had, don’t be surprised if he has even more historic games or accomplishes more historic records.
