Browns Can End Season With a Winning Record

There are two more games left and if they are able to come out victorious, they will end the season above .500. This will be the first time they have a legitimate chance to have a winning record since 2007 where they went 10-6 and missed the playoffs.

The last time Cleveland made the playoffs was in 2002. There is a chance for them to make the post-season, a slim chance, but a chance nonetheless. They need a miracle to earn the last AFC Wild Card Playoff Spot. Long story short they need help from many of the teams around the league.

Cleveland Browns Need a Miracle to Make Playoffs

It has been about two decades since the Cleveland Browns have made the NFL Playoffs. Before week fourteen the Cleveland Browns had a chance to win their division, let alone make the playoffs. Furthermore, they need(ed) help from other teams. First, they had to take care of business by winning against the Denver Broncos on the road, which they did.

According to an article by 24/7 Sports, here are the scenarios Cleveland needed to happen in week fourteen to stay alive for their division and the NFL Playoffs. First, they needed the Pittsburgh Steelers to lose their last three games. Next, they needed the Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans, and Miami Dolphins all to lose two out of their last three games.

In addition, here are the results from week fourteen, the Steelers, Ravens, Colts, and Titans all won, while the Dolphins were embarrassed by the Minnesota Vikings. Since the Steelers held off the Patriots, the Browns can’t win their division. Their only chance in, is a wild card spot as Pittsburgh holds the tie-breaker. Their chance to make the playoffs is slim.

In order for them to sneak into the playoffs as the final wild-card spot, they need to win their last two games. Then they need the Ravens to lose their last two games, the Dolphins to lose one more game, then the Colts and Titans to each lose in week 15, then in week 16, those two teams need to tie for Cleveland to sneak into the playoffs as they hold the tie-breaker over those two teams.

All that being said the Browns still have a chance to make the post-season. It is unlikely but possible.

Browns Have Chance to Make History

Making the playoffs would make history for the Cleveland Browns. This team has one of the longest droughts in football history of consistently not making the playoffs, let alone not even having a decent record.

Their last decent record below .500 was when they had Johnny Manziel where they went 7-9 and had a shot at the playoffs. Other than that it has been about 20 years since they last made the post-season. There have been moments where fans have had a reason to get excited.

For example, with Manziel when they almost made the playoffs and in 2007. They ended up going home early.

There is Hope In Cleveland

LeBron James, another prominent athlete in Cleveland is now in Los Angles. James helped bring the city a championship. Now that he is in L.A. the Cleveland Cavaliers through thirty-two games have won only eight games. They hold one of the worst records in the league.

Back to football the Browns finally have hope as they have a chance to make the playoffs and end the season with a winning record. If this is too happen it could be a start to a new era for the Cleveland Browns.

They could consistently make the NFL Playoffs and even win their division. After a long wait, they have found their quarterback in Baker Mayfield after building their defense and supplying him with skilled offensive players. Mayfield is energetic, while Jarvis Landry is another playmaker, both have a winning attitude and want to change the culture of the Browns. They want the organization and those involved to want to enjoy work and have a winning attitude.

As a team this season they are averaging 121.2 rush yards which is 13th in the league and 234.6 pass yards which is 16th in the league. They score an average of 22.1 points per game and average 355.8 total yards per game.

Their defense is young and talented, only improving alongside their offensive. In addition on both sides of the ball, they are explosive and playmakers.

If a miracle happens and they make the NFL Playoffs then history will be made. In conclusion, the Cleveland Browns will be exciting to watch if they make the NFL Playoffs.
