NFL Championship Weekend

Top 5 Prop Bets of Super Bowl LII Weekend

The Super Bowl is finally here. The New England Patriots take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII. Even if you aren’t a seasoned gambler, you can still bet on the game with these five prop bets. A prop bet is a bet made regarding the occurrence or non-occurrence during a game of an event not directly affecting the game’s final outcome. Most sports books also spend much less time making sure the lines are sharp on props than they do on more traditional lines such as point spreads, money lines and over/under totals. Even though you might not be interested in the game, these five bets might make “The Big Game” a little more excitable.

Prop Bets

National Anthem

How long will the National Anthem by Pink last?

Over 2 Minutes -200                         Under 2 Minutes +150

Even though the -200 might steer you away, four of the last five national anthems have gone over the two-minute mark. I would take the over two minutes.

Outcome of the Coin Toss

Heads -105                                        Tails -105

Tails never fails or maybe you just like to call Heads. Over the last three years, tails has been the outcome of the coin toss. Before that, heads won five in a row. In the 51 Super Bowls, the toss has been heads 24 times and tails 27 times. Im going to go with tails on this one.

Will Terrell Owens be Mentioned on the Broadcast

Yes -160                                            No +120

The odds of this happening are very good. Owens is still up for election to the NFL Hall of Fame. Those going in will be named this weekend. So if Owens is picked, his name most likely will be said during the broadcast. In addition, the last time these teams meet in Super Bowl XXXIX Owens was playing for the Eagles. It would seem Owens’ name will pop up once in the broadcast.

How Many Times Will the Temperature Outside be Mentioned During the Broadcast (From Kickoff to the Final Whistle)

Over 1 -140                                     Under 1 EVEN

This seems like a possible push here. With the game being in an indoor stadium, how many times can you talk about the temperature? The high tomorrow is a chilly 5 degrees tomorrow in Minneapolis. They will mention the temperature at the start of the game and then either Al Michaels or Cris Collinsworth will comment on how they are happy they aren’t outside. If you are going to bet on this one, take the over 1 as the safer of the two.

How Many Times Will Tom Brady’s Age be Mentioned During the Broadcast (From Kickoff to Final Whistle)

Over 1.5 -280                                    Under 1.5 +185

If you didn’t know by now Tom Brady is forty years old. Yes, that is correct forty years old. This could hit the over in the Patriots first offensive series. It will most likely hit the over by the first half. Collinsworth will mention Tom Brady’s age more than once. Also, Al Michaels will probably mention it when Brady takes the field for the first time. Take the over here, I know the pay off won’t be the best but next to the National Anthem this seems like the safest bet.

Even if you aren’t interested in the game, you can make a couple reasonable bets to make the game more interesting for you. Just remember to bet responsible and enjoy Super Bowl Sunday.
