Dolphins Dynamic All-Pro receiver Tyreek Hill Wants Out of Miami

Miami Dolphins Pro Bowl wide receiver Tyreek Hill tells reporters that he wants out of Miami after a disappointing end to the season.

After the Miami Dolphins season finale, he met with the media and got some things off of his chest. The Dolphins took a 32-30 loss to the New York Jets, and a frustrated Hill told reporters after the game that he will need to think about his future and consider what will be best for him going forward.

“I’m opening the door,” Hill told the media after the Jets loss. “I’m out, bro. It was great playing here, but at the end of the day, I got to do what’s best for my career. “I’m too much of a competitor to be just out there.”

His comments also came after Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel pulled him out of the game after seeing the Dolphins were eliminated from playoff contention.

Tyreek Hill vocalizing potential trade

Hill, a five-time All-Pro receiver, finished his most disappointing year in a Dolphins uniform. He finished under 1,000 yards for the first time in his career and struggled to put together consistent performances throughout the season as Dolphins starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa dealt with injuries throughout the season.

In 2023, Hill was the league leader in receiving yards and was the co-leader in touchdowns. He finished second in Offensive Player of the Year voting behind Christian McCaffrey. Hill has been one of the top playmakers in the NFL since he first stepped foot in the league, and not having the season he wants, it does come as a surprise that he is upset.

Why Hill wants out?

This is the million-dollar question; why would Tyreek Hill want out? Is there a rift going on behind closed doors between him and the coaching staff that has yet to be revealed? Is it because of the week-to-week uncertainty about Tagovailoa’s health? That makes the most sense. Every game that Tagovailoa has missed this season, the Dolphins have lost. Not only have they lost, The offense falls completely apart when Tagovailoa is out of the lineup.

Hill has won a Super Bowl during his time with the Kansas City Chiefs, and he may have a desire to consistently be in Super Bowl contention as he was when he was a member of the Chiefs. Miami made the playoffs in 2023 but was eliminated in the wild-card round to the Chiefs. They also made the playoffs in the 2022 season but were eliminated by the Buffalo Bills. Ironically, Tagovailoa did not play in the game as he had his season ended due to concussions.

He agreed to a restructured contract with the Dolphins back in August that kept him among the highest-paid receivers in the league. In 2022, Hill was traded for first, second, fourth, and sixth-round picks to bring him from Kansas City to Miami. The Dolphins will not get anywhere near what they gave up if they end up trading Hill.

The Tyreek Hill experience will be considered a disaster if the Dolphins trade him without ever winning a single playoff game. It is also a disaster that McDaniel has built a fragile offense for the Dolphins that without Tagovailoa, it does not seem to function properly.

Miami will definitely be getting calls as soon as the season is over to gauge Hill’s availability. He will turn 31 in March but still has the speed and game-breaking ability to be a productive player in his 30s. The offseason has already gotten off to an interesting start for Miami.
