Tadi Abedje’s Top NFL Week 11 Performances

This is the end of Week 11 which was filled with blowouts, statement wins and guys showing out. Here are my top five performances of the week that led to victories.

Tadi Abedje’s Top NFL Week 11 Performances

Jared Goff (Quarterback) – LA Rams

Week Eleven Stats: 31/49 passing, 413 yards, five total touchdowns

This was arguably the best game of the season and it certainly lived up to the hype. Both the Rams and Chiefs combined for 105 points and 1,001 yards, which was a Monday Night Football. Both quarterbacks had huge passing numbers but one of them came out on top. That was Jared Goff who was in a shootout with Patrick Mahomes (478 yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions). He had his second career 400-yard passing game, five touchdowns (four passing and one rushing) and a career-high 31 completions on 49 throws. The Rams QB threw the game-winning 40-yard touchdown pass with 1:56 left to Gerald Everett. Despite his two lost fumbles, it was an incredible performance for Goff.

Drew Brees (Quarterback) – New Orleans Saints

Week Eleven Stats: 22/30 passing, 363 yards, four touchdowns

Another week, another flawless performance by the 39-year old Drew Brees. He led his Saints to scores on their first three drives of the game in a 48-7 wipeout of the defending champion Eagles. It was his fifth 300-yard passing day of the season and threw four touchdown passes (Michael Thomas, Tre’Quan Smith, Austin Carr and Alvin Kamara). This guy is making it look so easy as he has a league-leading 76.9 completion percentage, 25 TD’s to only one pick on the year. The Saints are the hottest team in the league winning nine straight and Brees is the main culprit. He is certainly making his case of winning his first ever MVP award.

Saquon Barkley (Running Back) – New York Giants

Week Eleven Stats: 27 carries for 142 yards, three total touchdowns

The 2018 number two pick out of Penn State continues to add to his historic rookie year. Against the lowly Bucs, Saquon Barkley had his ninth game of over 100 yards from scrimmage. His 142 rushing yards and three touchdowns (two rushing, one receiving) was his career best. With his presence, Eli Manning benefited by completing a career-high 94.4 percent of his throws. The Giants won their first game at home this year and have back-to-back victories to go to 3-7. It’s been a struggle for the G-Men but Barkley and Odell Beckham Jr. have been the bright spots for them.

Ezekiel Elliott (Running Back) – Dallas Cowboys

Week Eleven Stats: 23 carries for 122 yards, one touchdown and seven catches for 79 yards

It was another 100 scrimmage yard game for the Cowboys running back. Of his 122 rush yards, 114 of them came after contact which meant that he was keeping his legs moving against a struggling Falcons defense. Additionally, Elliott made his impact known in the receiving game by catching seven balls for 79 yards. He reached the end zone from the ground for the 27th time of his young career. Zeke is second in the league in rushing behind Todd Gurley as his Cowboys won back-to-back road games versus the Eagles and Falcons. Next, he’ll have a chance to feast again on Thanksgiving against the rival Redskins for first place in the NFC East.

T.Y. Hilton (Wide Receiver) – Indianapolis Colts

Week Eleven Stats: nine receptions, 155 yards, two touchdown

It’s been an up-and-down year for T.Y Hilton. But that all changed on Sunday against the Titans as he caught all nine passes that went his way for 155 yards. In the second quarter, he would have a 68-yard touchdown reception deep over the middle against Tennessee’s top corner Adoree’ Jackson. Hilton would have another score in the third quarter when he caught a pass in the flat as Jackson tried to tackle him out of bounds but he used his strength to stay in-bounds and walked into the end zone. He’s still Andrew Luck‘s go-to-guy as the Colts have a more smooth offense under new head coach Frank Reich.
