Ohio State Star Claims This Team Has the Loudest Stadium In College Football

One of the most fascinating statistics in college football and in the world itself is the number of huge American football stadiums. Of the 12 largest stadiums in the world, 8 of them are college football stadiums. However, the Ohio State Buckeyes stud Caleb Downs claims that one of the largest stadiums in the world isn’t actually that good.

Caleb Downs Names Loudest Stadium in College Football

Penn State Atmosphere Overrated????

Caleb Downs claimed that the 2nd largest stadium in the country and the 4th largest stadium aren’t even that loud. Beaver Stadium, home to the Penn State Nittany Lions, is one of the loudest venues in the sport. The “white out” is supposed to be one of the most intimidating things in football. Downs, however, claimed that the crowd was really only loud after a pick-6 in the 2024 showdown between the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions.

The Nittany Lions went up 10-0 before losing 20-13 in a game that wasn’t at all that impressive. Caleb Downs has some reason to speak that way, too, as Ohio State has won the last ten matchups. Each game has been lost by 13 or fewer, making the rivalry between Ohio State and Penn State feel like a massive mountain to climb for the Nittany Lions. Many of those games have also been played in the atmosphere of Happy Valley, making Penn State look a little ridiculous.

Texas A&M Claimed to Be the Loudest Stadium

Caleb Downs claimed that in his rookie year, the loudest venue was the “home of the 12th man”, also known as Kyle Field. Downs felt as if they were pumping noise into the stadium, leading some speculation that Downs claimed they were cheating. The stadium, nonetheless, isn’t much smaller than Beaver Stadium. Kyle Field is one of the hardest stadiums to play in, regardless, as it is the 4th largest stadium in college football after the Michigan Wolverines, Nittany Lions, and the Buckeyes (if anyone wants to prove that the BIG Ten is just as good as the SEC, use this stat).

This season, the Texas A&M Aggies hope to make a run at the SEC. So far, the team ranks as the number 10 team in the nation and has one of the easier schedules in the SEC. Unfortunately for them, they won’t be hosting any ranked teams in their stadium this season to make it harder for the other team. After years of being considered a good team but unable to break through, what will this season bring?

Can Caleb Downs and OSU Do It Again This Season

The question remains for Ohio State, Can they do it again? The Buckeyes have three ranked opponents on their schedule, including the No. 9 Illinois Fighting Illini, No. 2 Penn State, and the No. 21 Wolverines. OSU does not have any other potentially dangerous teams to face this season, including the Oregon Ducks and Indiana Hoosiers. For the Buckeyes, this could mean good things. Ohio State is yet to have proved themselves so far in 2025.

The victory over the Texas Longhorns needs to be questioned simply because Texas has looked incredibly average over their first 3 games. Not to mention, had any other team played some actual offense in the first 3 quarters, the Buckeyes might have lost. Who knows though? Perhaps the Buckeyes are No. 1 for a reason.

In the end, the loudest stadiums are a stat that can be meaningless. Sometimes, however, they aren’t. It is very interesting to hear from the players who has the loudest stadium. Perhaps, at the end of the year, these venues will contribute to some of the biggest victories of the year.
