NFL Changes of Scenery…for 2025?

No two NFL teams are built the same; one is a well-oiled machine and a playoff regular, while the other cannot do anything right. Any players picked up by teams who fit the second mold feel this. But every so often, said players find themselves rocking new colors the next season and flourish. Just look at Saquon Barkley having a career resurgence in his first year with Philadelphia after his talents were wasted in New York.

Here are a few players who could benefit from a change of scenery for the 2025 NFL Season.

Players That Might Benefit On A New Team In 2025

Trevor Lawrence

The Jacksonville Jaguars can already kiss their playoff chances goodbye, sitting at 2-8 and currently on a three-game losing streak. Trevor Lawrence, prior to sustaining a shoulder injury, was not putting up head-turning numbers, either. If he wants to save his young career from being completely destroyed, he might want to seek greener pastures outside of Duvall County. But doing so after signing a colossal contract extension will be easier said than done.

Perhaps playing for a more quarterback-savvy head coach, like Sean McVay of the LA Rams, or Kyle Shanahan of the 49ers, would be just what he needs to gain a second wind.

Myles Garrett

While the rest of the AFC North is fighting for playoff spots, the Browns are falling further and further into obscurity. The only silver lining in the pitch-black storm clouds over Cleveland is that Myles Garrett has not openly requested a tradeyet. The five-time Pro Bowl defensive end and reigning Defensive Player of the Year ought to, or at least start window shopping. A formidable franchise looking to bolster their defense could look to Garrett as that missing piece.

Imagine #95 playing for someone like the Cincinnati Bengals or the Washington Commanders in 2025.

THE ENTIRE JETS TEAM

The New York Jets do not know how to take care of nice things, as proven time and time again. The Aaron Rodgers experiment is clearly not panning out, and the stacked defense cannot carry the team all of the time. The talents of Sauce Gardner, C.J. Mosley, Haason Reddick, and Quinnen Williams are being wasted week in and week out, despite gang green being a premiere defense in recent years.

Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall are not having it much better. With a disjointed offense and a crisis in coaching, the Jets’ suffering is likely set to continue for a while. Every impact player on this roster should move out of MetLife Stadium and start seeking new squads to play for. It would be a win-win situation for both the players and the front office when one considers the potential draft capital the Jets ownership could receive.

Maxx Crosby

Most football fans would find it hard to root against Maxx Crosby. But the Las Vegas Raiders, currently 2-7, seem unmotivated to reward Crosby’s near-herculean production and work ethic. This squad allows the third most points per game, while forcing less than 19 points per game in return. Though the days of Josh McDaniels have ruined this brand for years to come, the black hole cannot blame a FORMER head coach for long.

Crosby should start looking at other places where he can once again experience stability and hopefully playoff success.
