A Kyle Larson repeat feels inevitable. Can Larson close it out in the finale?

Kyle Larson Repeat: Hendrick Motorsports Driver Closes in on Back-to-Back Championships

Kyle Larson‘s 2026 campaign has been impressive, especially considering how difficult his start to the season was. According to NASCAR‘s official driver statistics, he has recorded three wins, 15 top-five finishes, and 21 top-10 finishes, while leading 1,238 laps in 35 races.

Those numbers show how productive Larson has been throughout the season, particularly during the 2026 NASCAR postseason. His victories at Gateway, Kansas, and Talladega have helped him become the leading championship contender.

His performance is even more impressive considering he entered the postseason after a lengthy winless streak. Larson has managed to turn his season around and put himself in a position to win another championship.

His experience at the highest level has been important. Over the years, he has shown that he can compete against the best drivers in the series. That experience could make a difference at Homestead, where every decision matters. With the championship within reach, Larson will need to stay focused, avoid mistakes, and rely on the team that has supported him throughout the season.

Hendrick Motorsports Could Celebrate Again

One of the biggest reasons Larson has been so successful is the support he receives from Hendrick Motorsports. He has become one of the organization’s most successful drivers and has earned plenty of respect for his performances.

Hendrick Motorsports has had many talented drivers throughout its history, including several championship winners. The crew has also played an important role in Larson’s success this season, particularly through its pit stops and race strategies.

The interesting thing about Larson’s campaign is that he did not have a particularly strong start to the season. He went through a lengthy winless streak and also spent the majority of the season outside of the top-five in points before finally finding his winning form again. Now, after winning three races, he is just one event away from potentially securing another championship.

With only one race remaining, Hendrick Motorsports has another opportunity to celebrate a champion and potentially secure back-to-back titles. Larson still has to close it out, but his 67-point advantage gives him a significant lead heading into the finale.

The organization has plenty of championship experience, which could prove valuable during the final race. Larson will need his crew to deliver another strong performance, especially when it comes to pit stops and making the right decisions throughout the event.

Homestead Could Deliver Third Championship for Larson

The final race of the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season will take place at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 8. Larson enters the weekend with a comfortable advantage, but he still needs to finish the job.

Christopher Bell and Denny Hamlin remain mathematically capable of catching him, meaning Larson cannot afford to relax. However, he only needs to score nine points at Homestead to secure the championship, according to NBC Sports.

Larson finished ninth at Martinsville on November 1, maintaining a 67-point advantage over Bell. Hamlin sits another three points behind Bell, trailing Larson by 70 points.

Larson has already proven that he can handle the pressure of championship racing. His 2025 title victory demonstrated his ability to deliver when everything is on the line.

If he can produce another solid performance in Florida, Larson will secure his third career NASCAR Cup Series championship and his second consecutive title.

Back-to-back championships would be another major achievement for the Hendrick Motorsports driver. After overcoming a difficult start to the 2026 season, Larson is now just one race away from completing another memorable championship campaign.
