Karl-Anthony Towns in action the Philadelphia 76ers. Could a Towns trade be happening or will him and the Knicks work it out?

Karl-Anthony Towns Trade Rumors: 3 Best Landing Spots for Knicks Center

Karl-Anthony Towns could become one of the biggest names in the NBA trade market this season if the New York Knicks decide to move on from the All-Star.

Towns remains one of the league’s most talented players. His ability to score 20 points per game is impressive, and so is his ability to make three-pointers and shut down opposing defenders. With questions surrounding his future with the Knicks, several teams could target him.

Here are three of the best landing spots for Towns.

Three Teams to Watch in a Potential Karl-Anthony Towns Trade

1. Golden State Warriors

Stephen Curry signed his contract extension with the Golden State Warriors this offseason. Curry is getting older and looking to win a championship, but the Warriors will need a championship-caliber roster to do that.

After missing out on Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jaylen Brown this offseason, the Warriors could definitely make a big offer for Towns. The biggest question would be whether the Warriors have what the Knicks would want for Towns, who is a very valuable player to the Knicks. He is one of the main reasons New York won the championship last season. I don’t think the Warriors would trade away any of their best players, but they could definitely trade away a handful of draft picks for Towns.

If the Warriors want Towns, they might just have to sacrifice their future of drafting players in the first round, and it could definitely turn out to be a great move for the Warriors. Bringing in a  talent like Towns could definitely make you a championship contender. After all, with not much more of Curry’s career left, it isn’t unreasonable to think that the Warriors are looking to compete immediately.

2. Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards took major steps trying to rebuild their franchise and become championship contenders. The Wizards took major steps forward when they traded for Anthony Davis, signed Trae Young, and drafted AJ Dybantsa first overall in the 2026 draft. Trading for Towns would be a great move for the Wizards, and that would truly make them a great contender.

If the Wizards were to trade for Towns, a player like Davis would be a great candidate to be a part of that trade. The Knicks are having problems signing Towns to an extension, so if they decided to trade him away, the Wizards could definitely target him. Towns could be a short-term deal for the Wizards as Young grows into his true potential.

Adding Towns would also give Washington another experienced star who can help lead a young roster. His scoring and three-point shooting would give the Wizards another reliable offensive option while taking some pressure off Young and Dybantsa. If everything comes together, Washington could quickly become one of the NBA’s most exciting teams.

3. Boston Celtics

Towns could team up with his former teammate Mitchell Robinson, who was recently signed by the Boston Celtics. The Celtics remain thin on the frontline, and adding a player like Towns could definitely address some of their issues. Towns would provide points alongside Jayson Tatum, and they would be a great team.

The Celtics are championship contenders almost every season, and adding Towns could make it back to business as usual for Boston. The Celtics have made notable trades this NBA offseason, and maybe they could continue to make even more noise.
