Five New York Giants Free Agent Targets

The New York Giants are coming off a terrible 2017 season. They have plenty of holes to fill on their current roster. Dave Gettleman has already emphasized that he will be looking to spend big on improving the Giants offensive line. Here are five free agents Gettleman and the Giants should take a look at.

5 Shaq Barrett, OLB

Barrett is a promising 25-year old linebacker. He’s had two strong seasons with the Broncos to begin his career. Barrett can get to the quarterback and is good in pass coverage. Barrett was one of the more underrated pieces on the Broncos defense, and would be a tremendous addition to James Bettcher’s defense.

4 Ja’Waun James, RT

James was one of the lone bright spots on a terrible Dolphins offensive line last year. He was the Dolphins first round pick in 2014. He is great in pass protection, however he has problems staying on the field.

3 Justin Pugh, T/G

Pugh has been one of the only good offensive linemen on the Giants the past two seasons. He has played well done they picked him out of Syracuse. If the Giants sign both Norwell and Pugh, Pugh can move back to the interior were he is much better.

2 Jerick McKinnon, RB

McKinnon would be a perfect complement to Wayne Gallman in the Giants back field. He has also thrived in Pat Schurmur’s offense before. McKinnon could replace the often injured Shane Vereen. Jerrick McKinnon would be another dangerous piece to this already talented offense.

1 Andrew Norwell, G

Norwell is one of the best tackles in the game. He won’t turn 27 until October, and has connections to Gettleman from his Carolina days. Norwell has only gotten better each year he’s been in the league.
