Five Players Who Could Shake Up the Liverpool FC Squad
William Carvalho from FC Porto is a promising young Portuguese defensive midfielder who is often linked to a move away to a bigger club. In recent months the midfielder has been linked to a move to Merseyside, but where would he fit into the side? Jordan Henderson has held down a very convincing season in the midfield general role, so it begs the question of if another is necessary. He certainly is not on the ropes in terms of his captaincy or place in the team.
Jonas Hector from FC Köln, however, would have a crucial role at left back. James Milner has done an extremely admirable job filling the gap in the squad there, but a natural player must be the long term solution. Hector is a young promising German who has been scouted for a long time and he could be a good fit.
Douglas Costa from Bayern Munich has been linked many times to a move away from Bavaria. The Brazilian has performed well for the German giants but he is not playing the role he thought he might. Costa is a promising player who could fit the bill for an active attacking side such as Liverpool.
Samir Handanović of Inter Milan is the sole goalkeeper connected with Liverpool recently. He is having a dominant season in Italy and is linked with many clubs outside of the country. The Slovenian is 32 years of age however, which could be a detractor to any long term plans.
Those out on loan such as Lazar Marković, Jon Flanagan, and Mamadou Sakho could return. Each have had bright moments and challenging moments, but with an evolving side, opportunities exist for a place in the team. I suspect that each will get a look in the summertime.
