3 Landing Spots for Saquon Barkley: Where Could the Star Running Back Play Next?

Saquon Barkley remains one of the most talented running backs in the NFL, and his future could become a major talking point. With his explosive running ability, impressive speed, and ability to make plays both on the ground and through the air, Barkley would be a valuable addition to almost any team.

Several NFL franchises could benefit from bringing in an experienced running back who can make an immediate impact. Reports say it’s unlikely that the Philadelphia Eagles trade Barkley but if the star running back becomes available, even if it’s in the offseason, here are some of the top landing spots that could make sense.

Possible Landing Spots For Saquon Barkley

Seattle Seahawks

After the Seattle Seahawks lost Kenneth Walker III in free agency, their running back room has not been that good. The Seahawks could aim for or go after Jonathan Taylor, the running back for the Indianapolis Colts, but the problem is Taylor is a younger player, so that would require giving up a lot of talent and/or draft picks.

The Seahawks drafted Jadarian Price in the first round out of Notre Dame, so the question is: do they want to build up such a young, talented player, or do they want to bring in a veteran running back from theĀ Eagles?

The Seahawks are defending champions, so if they want to go back-to-back, they might have to improve some positions, and one of those positions is the running back room. Seattle definitely has a hard decision: do you trade for a veteran, trade for a superstar who could still play for like ten years or build around Price?

Houston Texans

The Houston Texans‘ best running back is David Montgomery, who has not been that good this season at all. The Texans acquired Montgomery so their running game could be much better, but their running game has not improved as expected.

The Texans are 2-5 this season so far, not doing as great as expected, but the interesting thing is they are second in the AFC South division. So bringing in Barkley could change the team and fix things on the running back front for the future. Barkley has one problem, and that is injuries; the Texans could be taking a risk by trading for him.

The Texans are fighting for a playoff spot, and losing games is not helping, so it could be a good idea to bring in Barkley. The Texans are running out of time because soon the window will close, and then they cannot trade for Barkley anymore, so if they really want him, they need to strike now before any other team does.

Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals could also be another interesting landing spot for Barkley. The Bengals have a talented offense with Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, but their running game could use some help.

Bringing in Barkley could make the Bengals’ offense even more dangerous. With Burrow throwing the ball to Chase and Higgins, defenses would have to worry about the passing game, but adding Barkley would also give them a strong running back who can make big plays. This could make it much harder for opposing defenses to stop the Bengals.

The Bengals want to compete and make a deep playoff run, so bringing in a player like Barkley could help them do that. Barkley would give them another talented offensive weapon, and with the team already having some of the best offensive players in the NFL, this could be a move worth considering for now and seasons beyond.
