Three weeks into the NFL season, Marvin Harrison Jr.‘s future as an Arizona Cardinals is suddenly becoming a major talking point.
The former No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft has struggled mightily in his third season, raising questions about whether a change of scenery could help the talented receiver get his career back on track. Harrison has been the subject of increasing trade speculation, with NFL GMs reportedly believing a quality Day 3 pick could potentially be enough to get a deal done.
That would be a shocking return for a player once viewed as one of the safest prospects in the draft, especially since Harrison remains on his rookie contract with the Cardinals. Arizona could decide to move on, but would a Day 3 pick really be enough to convince the team to give up on its former fourth overall selection?
If the Cardinals do decide to make Harrison available, here are five teams that could make a move.
Marvin Harrison Jr. Trade Destinations
Las Vegas Raiders
The Las Vegas Raiders are off to a surprising 3-0 start and could look to capitalize on their strong beginning by adding another weapon to the offense. Outside of tight end Brock Bowers, the Raiders don’t have a truly established No. 1 receiving option, making Harrison an especially intriguing target. Las Vegas also plays in a competitive AFC West, where adding another explosive weapon could be valuable down the stretch. With picks No. 28, 60, 92, 130, 165, and 209, the Raiders have enough draft capital to make an offer without completely sacrificing their future.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles are another intriguing fit, particularly if its offensive struggles continue. Harrison could eventually become a replacement for A.J. Brown, giving the Eagles a young receiver who could grow into a major part of the offense. The Eagles also have plenty of draft capital, holding picks at No. 17, 48, 97, 119, 147, 153, 229, 234 and 244. And when it comes to making aggressive moves, few general managers have been more willing than Howie Roseman. Adding Harrison would certainly fit that approach.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs have already been linked to a potential reunion with Tyreek Hill, which suggests they are still searching for another explosive option for Patrick Mahomes. Harrison could give Mahomes a legitimate deep threat capable of stretching the field and creating more opportunities underneath. The best part for Kansas City is that Harrison wouldn’t necessarily need to be the focal point, with Andy Reid having plenty of offensive weapons to work with. The Chiefs also have plenty of draft capital, including picks No. 32, 64, 77, 96, 134, 169, 175, 210, 255 and 256, giving them several ways to put together a trade package.
Washington Commanders
The Washington Commanders could also be an interesting landing spot, especially with Terry McLaurin and Stefon Diggs both getting older. Outside of Antonio Williams, the Commanders don’t have many obvious long-term answers at receiver, so bringing in a young talent like Harrison could help address a position that may become a bigger need in the future. The team currently has picks No. 10, 41, 72, 109, 143, 196 and 233, giving Washington plenty of options if it decides to make a serious offer. If Jayden Daniels returns and the Commanders remain competitive, adding Harrison could also give the offense another young playmaker to build around.
Houston Texans
The Houston Texans might have the most interesting connection of them all. Houston lost Jayden Higgins for the season, while Tank Dell is still working his way back from a serious injury, leaving Nico Collins as the team’s primary established receiving option. Harrison would not only give C.J. Stroud another talented weapon, but would also reunite the two former Ohio State teammates. Houston entered the season with Super Bowl aspirations, but sitting at 0-3 changes the conversation. With picks No. 1, 37, 68, 105, 197, 227 and 249, the Texans have the draft capital to make an aggressive move if they decide the roster needs a shake-up.
The Last Word
Harrison Jr. was considered talented enough to be selected fourth overall just two years ago, so it is hard not to wonder why a team wouldn’t be willing to part with a third-round pick or later to see what he can do in a new situation. A change of scenery has helped plenty of players throughout the years, including Javonte Williams, Baker Mayfield and George Pickens.
Harrison is still only 23 years old and would come with roughly a season and a half remaining on his rookie deal, along with a team option for another year. At that price, the risk is relatively simple: give up a Day 3 pick and see if a new environment can unlock the player Arizona once believed was worthy of the fourth overall pick.
