Top Four MLB Pitchers Going Into the Postseason

Jacob Misiorowski is having a phenomenal season, posting a 1.89 ERA with 243 strikeouts; he also averages a velocity of 100.5 mph. The right-handed pitcher is the front-runner to win the CY Young award with these elite numbers and looks to continue to pitch at this level, shifting into the postseason and helping the Miluwakee Brewers possibly reach the promise land.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto‘s dominance on the mound has been evident for the Los Angeles Dodgers; once again Yamamoto will try and help his organization reach another World Series appearance. Yamamoto currently has a 2.51 ERA, which is currently ranked sixth in the MLB according to ESPN. In a recent performance, Yamamoto recently tossed seven scoreless innings against the Cincinnati Reds. The left-handers CY Young chances keep going up with these kinds of performances and are helping the Dodgers’ chances at going deep into the playoffs this coming October.

This pitching rotation is pretty deep; however, Yamamoto headlines the strong rotation as the Dodgers’ ace as the team heads into the postseason. He is also following in the footsteps of other Dodgers’ pitchers that have been successful in the postseason and regular season such as recently retired pitcher, Clayton Kershaw.

Chris Sale has pitched very well with the Atlanta Braves, guiding the organization to another National League East title and a top seed in the postseason. Sale currently has a 2.89 ERA with a 14-8 record in the 2026 season and is in strong contention for the CY Young award. Two seasons ago, the big left hander won the award by posting a 2.18 ERA and 18 wins. Sale, overall this season, has helped the Braves keep the first-place spot in the division and Atlanta is in the driver’s seat to clinch their division as well.

Sale is a top pitcher going into this postseason and can help the Braves reach the World Series. The Braves have not been back since 2021. Sale joins an elite rank of former Braves pitchers, such as Greg Maddux and John Smoltz. Both former Braves helped their organization to World Series appearances in the 90’s. Sale may be able to do the same even with key guys in the rotation on the injured list.

The big left-hander Cam Schlittler is pitching well for the New York Yankees. He has a 1.95 ERA overall with a 14-6 record and 228 strikeouts. Schlittler is one of the front runners for the CY Young awards alongside Misiorowski of the Brewers. This is one of the Yankees’ second-best pitchers in terms of earned run average for Schlittler through 31 starts, not seen since 1978 when former pitcher Ron Guidry recorded a 1.74 ERA. Schlittler will be a massive advantage come playoff time, especially against high-powered offenses New York will face in the postseason.
