NFL Week 7: Bucs, Lions Headline The Three Best Games Of The Week

Here are the three best matchups on the week 7 NFL slate.

Three Best NFL Games of Week 7

Indianapolis Colts (5-1) at Los Angeles Chargers (4-2)

The Colts and Chargers matchup could be a playoff preview in the AFC. Right now, both teams have current holds over their division, with the Colts being first place in the AFC South and the Chargers being first in the AFC West. So theoretically, this game could play a part in seeding when it comes to the AFC playoffs.

Both teams, as it stands right now, are threats in the AFC, but a win by either team could vault the respective team into serious Super Bowl contention.

The Colts’ defense is seventh in EPA per play, and their offense is second in EPA per play. LA is 22nd in EPA on offense and eighth on defense. LA is dealing with significant injuries to its offensive line and running back room, so the Colts’ defense will need to take advantage of those issues if it wants to get a win on the road.

Washington Commanders (3-3) at Dallas Cowboys (2-3-1)

This game can potentially be the highest-scoring game on the slate in week seven. They currently have the highest over/under of any game this week with 54.5. Every game the Cowboys play in seems to turn into a shootout so that this game could provide some great entertainment value for all NFL fans.

Washington will be trying to shake off a tough Monday night loss in which a fumbled handoff by star quarterback Jayden Daniels cost Washington the game. If the Commanders want to stay in the mix for the division title, they can’t afford two losses in a row. Washington is expected to get star wide receiver Terry McLaurin back, which should provide some much-needed help for Daniels.

As for Dallas, Dak Prescott continues to play at a high level, and a back-and-forth matchup between Daniels and Prescott will be one of the underrated things to watch on this week seven slate.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-1) at Detroit Lions (4-2)

The Buccaneers and Lions matchup is the best matchup on paper for week seven. Baker Mayfield is a leading MVP candidate right now, and even though the Lions are coming off a tough loss to the Chiefs, they are playing extremely well. This game will be big in terms of tiebreakers for a compact NFC playoff race right now.

The Bucs could be without multiple weapons in running back Bucky Iriving and receivers Chris Godwin, Emeka Egbuka, and possibly Mike Evans. However, Mayfield has been able to rise to the occasion despite being without multiple weapons at various points so far this season. On the Lions’ side, they will be without one of their top safeties, Brian Branch, who was suspended after starting a fight with the Chiefs after the game.

Jared Goff and Mayfield are both currently ranked first and third in passing touchdowns, so this game could also be a track meet as the over/under is the second-highest of the NFL weekend behind the Commanders/Cowboys game. Detroit is the second-highest scoring team in the league, while Tampa Bay is the sixth-highest scoring team in the league.
