2025 NFL Week 2 Power Rankings: Lions Drop, Chargers Impress With KC Win

Power rankings heading into week two of the 2025 NFL season.

2025 NFL Week 2 Power Rankings

1. Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles had a close divisional matchup with the Cowboys to open up the season, but regardless of how it looked, they got the win and continue to be the top team in the league.

2. Buffalo Bills

The Bills took advantage of the Ravens not closing out their Sunday Night Football matchup, coming back to win after being down 40-26. The win gives the Bills the tiebreaker over the Ravens for future playoff seeding. Josh Allen was Superman.

3. Green Bay Packers

What an opening week statement by the Packers to destroy the Lions at home. In limited snaps, their new weapon, Micah Parsons, showed why he was worth what they gave up to get him.

4. Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens thoroughly dominated the Bills on Sunday, but couldn’t close out the game. Baltimore is the first NFL team in 277 NFL games to score 40 points, rush for 235 yards, and lose. Despite the loss, the Ravens looked like one of the league’s best teams.

5. Los Angeles Rams

The Rams took care of business at home against a ferocious Texans defense. Concerns about Matthew Stafford‘s back aren’t completely over, but he looked great.

6. Washington Commanders

The Commanders picked up where they left off from last season, dominating the Giants at home. Jayden Daniels continues to build on his rookie season, and new weapons Deebo Samuel, Rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt, and Laremy Tunsil all played well.

7. Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers probably had the biggest statement win of week one, beating the Kansas City Chiefs in Brazil. The win snapped a seven-game losing streak to the Chiefs.

8. Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs didn’t look their best against the Chargers in Brazil. Their defense gave up big plays all night, and despite some highlight plays from Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs couldn’t muster up enough offense to overcome LA.

9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

After losing both matchups to the Falcons in 2024, the Bucs open up the season with a win over their division rival. Rookie wide receiver Emeka Egbuka looks like the real deal.

10. San Francisco 49ers

Despite being down multiple offensive weapons, the 49ers were able to get a tough road win against division rival Seahawks. Christian McCaffrey looks to be back at full health.

11. Denver Broncos

The Broncos’ offense struggled in a week-one matchup against the Titans. However, the defense was able to pick up the slack, sacking Titans rookie quarterback six times.

12. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers got their first win in the Aaron Rodgers era in a game against his former team. Rodgers tossed four touchdown passes, looking like the Rodgers of old.

13. Cincinnati Bengals

It wasn’t lovely, but the Bengals were able to get a week-one win, which they had struggled to accomplish in the last couple of seasons. However, seven total second-half yards is a concern even in a win.

14. Las Vegas Raiders

Pete Carroll and company went across country to New England to get their first win of the season. Geno Smith passed for over 300 yards.

15. Detroit Lions

Could the loss of both offensive and defensive coordinators ruin the Lions’ season before it starts? If week one was any indication of what the season will look like, things don’t look good in Detroit.

16. Minnesota Vikings

J.J. McCarthy will get better as the season goes on. He impressed on a big Monday Night Football stage.

17. Houston Texans

The Texans had a shot to beat the Rams on their last drive, but a fumble by Houston stopped that from happening. C.J. Stroud was solid, but the offensive line still has questions

18. Indianapolis Colts

The Colts quarterback competition was one of the talks of NFL training camp, but Daniel Jobes put on a show in Colts’ win.

19. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Liam Coen era in Jacksonville has gotten off to a great start with a win over the Panthers.

20. Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals did what they were supposed to with their week one opponent.

21. Seattle Seahawks

A late fumble by Sam Darnold cost Seattle a chance to beat division rival the 49ers; however, their offense left a lot to be desired.

22. Atlanta Falcons

Michael Penix played well for the Falcons despite a loss to the Bucs

23. Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys had chances to defeat the defending champions, the Eagles, if it wasn’t for self-inflicted wounds, which shows the Cowboys may be better than originally thought.

24. Chicago Bears

Caleb Williams at times showed flashes of his top talent, however the Bears drop a tough one at home on Monday Night Football.

25. New York Jets

Even though they took a close loss to the Steelers, the Jets looked promising behind the performance of Justin Fields.

26. Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins look like they are headed for a disastrous 2025 season. Could Tyreek Hill be on his way out of Miami?

27. Carolina Panthers

After looking like an ascending team down the stretch of the 2024 season, the opener against the Jags was a step back for the team.

28. New England Patriots

It looked like much of the same from last season, where the Patriots were one of the worst teams in the NFL.

29. Cleveland Browns

The Browns will be a tough out for their competitors in their division.

30. New York Giants

Could be Jaxson Dart time soon in New York?

31. Tennessee Titans

Cam Ward may have likely seen the best defense he will see all season in week one.

32. New Orleans Saints

The Saints are on track to be in the driver seat for the top pick in 2026.
