2018’s Top Right Fielders in Major League Baseball

Right field is a position on the rise. Today’s top right fielders hit a ton of home runs, and have absolute cannon’s for arms. Here are 2018’s top right fielders in major league baseball.

2018’s Top Right Fielders in Major League Baseball

10 Andrew McCutchen

Cutch is one this list due to his name. Yes he has had a couple of down years, however he still has it in him to return to his MVP form of 2013. In 156 games last season, he hit .279 with 28 home runs and 88 RBI’s. Cutch was just traded to San Francisco, so maybe a change of scenery will help him regain his MVP form.

9 Josh Reddick

Reddick very quietly had a stellar 2017 season. In 134 games, he hit .314 with 34 doubles and 13 home runs. Reddick has quietly had a solid nine year career, playing for four different teams. His power has diminished a bit, the latter he has gotten in his career, however he still produces. He certainly brings flair, and high energy wherever he plays.

8 Domingo Santana

Santana had a career year in his fourth season in the league. He hit .278 with 29 doubles and 30 home runs in 2017. The best part about Santana and his 2017 breakout, is that he is only 25 years old. Santana’s power is legit, and he is going to show it in 2018 as part of a very strong Brewers ball club.

7 Steven Souza Jr

Souza developed very well in his fourth year in the league. He hit a career high 30 home runs, and walked a career high 84 times and cut his strike out rate. He certainly isn’t going to win a batting title anytime soon, as he is a career .236 hitter. However, Souza is only going to get better as he is only 28.

6 Yasiel Puig

Puig is most remembered for his antics, however he is a hell of a ball player. He is a career .281 hitter with 108 doubles and 85 home runs. Defensively, Puig has one of the best arms in the game. In 2017, Puig had a career year with 28 home runs, 24 doubles, and 74 RBI’s. Yasiel Puig is certainly an interesting character, however he is still a very good ballplayer.

5 J.D. Martinez

Martinez has picked his game up the past couple of season, solidifying himself as a top outfielder in the game. In 2014, hit a stellar .315 with 23 home runs, 30 doubles, and 76 RBI’s and he has only risen since. In 2017, he hit .303 with 26 doubles, 104 RBI’s, and a career high 45 home runs. Martinez just signed a big deal with the Red Sox, and will serve as the power bat they were missing.

4 Giancarlo Stanton

Raw Power is the only way to describe Giancarlo Stanton. Just take a look at the guy, he is built like a house. Stanton has hit 20+ home runs in all eight years he’s been in the league. In 2017, he took home the NL MVP award after hitting a league high 59 home runs and 132 RBI’s. The raw power of Aaron Judge and Stanton is going to be fun to watch in 2018 in the Bronx.

3 Mookie Betts

Mookie solidified himself as one of the top outfielders in the game with his third consecutive strong season. He has been named to back-to-back All-Star games, and Gold Gloves, and has finished second and sixth in AL MVP voting. He finished 2017 with a .264 average with 24 home runs, 46 doubles, 166 hits, 26 stolen bases, and 102 RBI’s. Betts has a unique combination of power, contact, and speed.

2 Bryce Harper

Harper has been a star since he came into the league in 2012 when he won the NL Rookie of the year. He is a five time NL All-Star, and he won a Silver Slugger and NL MVP in 2015. He bounced back from a rough 2016 season in a huge way. In 2017, he hit .319 with 27 doubles, 29 home runs, 134 hits, and 87 RBI’. He also cut his strike outs down from 117 to 99. Harper is due for a huge 2018 season in a contract year.

1 Aaron Judge

Judge is the next big thing in Major League Baseball – pun intended. In his rookie year, he broke the rookie home run record, hitting 52 home runs. He took home the American League Rookie of the Year. Judge also led the league in stakeouts, so he could stand to cut down in that department. However, a lineup with the power of him Stanton, and Gary Sanchez will surely be fun to watch.
